Smartphones, social media use and youth mental health are related to each other.
Technology has become an important part of our lives, and it is impossible to imagine a world
without gadgets like smartphones. Smart phones are now considered a commodity because of
their many advantages. Even students now use smart phones to access course materials on
their schools. In the event of an emergency, a student may also use a phone to immediately
call their parents or guardians. Mobile phones are seen to be highly practical and have shown
their use in calling security staff or an ambulance in cases of emergency, medical crises, or
maybe accidents. In addition to making calls and sending texts, a smartphone may be used to
send emails, take images in the absence of a camera, chat online, and meet new people.
Nowadays, everything is done with online, and using a smartphone it makes simple to do
practically all tasks with a single click only, but you need to be wise by clicking it ‘’ think
before you click’’. Anyway, Smart phones can be used for a variety of important purposes,
including online banking, access to contemporary services and apps, enhanced networking,
and online shopping. Smart phones allow us to stay connected with each other, but they might
also have negative effects to us. The use of smartphones has increased in popularity, most of
them are youth. Excessive use of smartphone is raising serious concerns among mental health,
have severe worries due to the negative use of youth. Smartphones users are increasingly
replacing interactions with technology which cause anxiety. Other disadvantages of smart
phones it really bad for your health, electromagnetic radiation cause by smart phones can
cause cancer and other disease for instance, if you always carry your phone in your pocket,
you risk becoming sterile. You can’t sleep well which can cause insomnia.

Social media can affect our mental health. Most of them are young people who use
social media without moderation, which is bad for their health. As a result of the intensity of
the online environment, young people who spend a lot of time on social media start to show
typical depressive symptoms. Social media is teaching us that our value is mostly determined
by how we look, and that's a problem. Finding happiness may be quite challenging if a
person's worth is only determined by how they seem and views of others. This is because
there will always be someone who doesn't like you if you put yourself out there for everyone
will see. It could be challenging to please everyone in online if your idea of value and worth
depends on other people finding you attractive. Many possible risks that social media’s
impact on young people’s mental health. To prevent the negative effects of young people’s
use of social media, start by teaching the teens and young adults about the risks that social
media provide if you want to prevent the negative impacts, you need to learn, and use them.
