Topic Sentence: Effects of the last earthquake in Mexico: a 7.1 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter near

Acapulco, Guerrero; shakes the center and south of the country this last September 7, 2021.

A) Major Support: Acapulco the epicenter of the earthquake suffered damage

Minor Support: two people lost their lives as a cause of the earthquake; a man who was hit in the

head by a pole, and a woman, who Suffered a heart attack when she saw part of her house collapse.

Minor Support: Acapulco and the coast of the state of Guerrero lived with alert the night because of

its proximity to the epicenter of the earthquake.

Minor Support: Some cars were crushed by poles or beams and the walls of some hotels were

damaged and even fell.

B) Major Support: The quake was so intense that the tremor was also felt in Mexico City, where frightened

residents took to the streets after hearing the seismic alert.

Minor Support: Mexico City, the buildings shook and in the sky the flashes known as "earthquake

lights" were observed.

Minor Support: Some of the damage in the city was power cuts in numerous neighborhoods.

Minor Support: The tremor was felt strongly and forced neighbors to go outside in the rain, some of

them in sleeping clothes,


C) Major Support: According to a government press release, the quake had "more than 130 aftershocks until

5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the strongest of 5.2 degrees."

Minor Support: Mexico City's head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, said there were no initial

reports of major damage in the capital, which is about 370 kilometers from the epicenter.

Minor Support: President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said there was "no significant damage" in

the state of Guerrero, where the epicenter of the quake is located.

Conclusion: Every natural phenomenon is amazing and at the same time it can be very dangerous, in this case

fortunately there were not many losses to regret even though the Mexican people have proven to be strong and

that they overcome adversities, they still retain the memory of previous earthquakes where there were many

collapses, and many human lives were lost.
