The Overview of this Instruction Manual

• In this instruction manual, we explain the use of Open Edge Adapter for DWX-52D.
• Regarding the precautions and the basic use when using DWX-52D, please refer
to “User’s Manual" of DWX-52D.

The Instruction for Use

1. Mounting the Workpiece on the Open Edge Adapter

A Use a torque screwdriver to loosen the adapter screws, turning them approximately 4 times. (4
locations)
Note
No need to remove the screws from Open Edge Adapter so as to improve work efficiency and
prevent the loss.

B Detach the adapter cap.

The adapter cap could be detached by turning clockwise.

C Set the disk workpiece into the Open Edge Adapter.

D Attach the Adapter Cap.

1 Orient the adapter cap removed in step B as shown in the following figure.

2 Put the Adapter Cap by turning counterclockwise.

Confirm that the hook of the Adapter Cap certainly fit into the screws.

3 Temporarily tighten the screws.

Temporarily tighten the screws (4 locations) to the extent that the seats touch the Adapter Cap.

4 Tighten the screws in order of (1)-(2)-(3)-(4) diagonally.

Tighten to the extent that the Torque Driver makes a sound of click.

Caution
Please observe the followings in order to prevent damaging the Disc workpiece.
• When tightening the screws, please use the torque screwdriver included in the package of DWX-
52D.
• Please tighten the screws in diagonal order.

2. Attaching the Adapter to the Machine

A Switch on the machine's power switch.

B After the initial operations are finished, open the front cover.

C Insert the Adapter into the Cramp as shown in the following figure.

D Secure the adapter.

As shown in the figure, turn the fixing knobs (in two locations) in the directions of the arrows while
pressing in on the adapter.

Note

Please use the Spanner (for Cramp) included in the package of DWX-52D when being hard
to turn the knobs by hand.

E Lightly tug on the adapter to check that it does not come loose.

F Close the Front Cover.
