Exercise: Some believe that governmental resources are better spent

on educating promising students whereas others believe that the

government allocate resources equally to ensure successful mass
education of all students in the country. Discuss both views and give
your opinion.

The government is often tasked with spending funds appropriately so

that the nation can grow economically and people’s quality of life can
be increased. An area which often attracts debate on fund allocation is
school studies. Even though resources are limited , I believe that the
government can help outliers achieve their full potential while also
avoid mass illiteracy among citizens in the process if issues are
adequately addressed.

To begin with, the benefits associated with aiding outliers are

numerous. When outliers are nurtured carefully and reasonably, they
can become value members of society and be advantageous for societal
development in various fields. This , in turn, will lead to quality
products and reliable results. On a grander scale, if they are given more
funds and facilities, these overachievers may end up making major
contributions to the world at large and thus pushing global
advancement. It is not just fostered scientists, researchers and such
who would benefit greatly from additional governmental investment
but also artists and musicians too. Nowadays, especially during the
COVID-19 pandemic, there are numerous struggling artists who could
not held galleries and musicians who could not tour due to social
distancing. Although the pandemic itself seems to be ending soon,
people in the arts cannot help but fear what will happen if something
similar appeared.

However, one should also be aware of the goods that comes from
universal education. With sufficient education, which is a high school
diploma , there will be less discrimination regarding elitism in academic
progress because people will have a chance to choose between
studying for higher degrees and settling for a job. Literacy helps people
to secure jobs which leads to lower crime rates because people have a
way to make healthier livelihoods instead of trafficking illegal
substances as a drug dealer or assaulting people as a loan shark.
Additionally, if some people desire studying more but are not affluent,
they can ask for government funding with certain conditions to
continue their academic journey. On another note, in societies also
exist non-traditional people who thrive as an outsider artist or as an
inventor. For the latter examples, numerous farmers have been
featured on national television for their inventions that help yield crops
effectively and take care of plants, flowers and trees fruitfully. These
people, while not as world-renowned as their academic counterparts,
make great contributions to the people by making their lives more
comfortable.

Personally, I think that governments can get more funding for both the
intellectual and the conventional studies of younglings from private
companies and sectors with definite guidelines. This is to ensure that
companies and sectors do not exert their influence over the schools
and change their curriculum to match the companies’ and sectors’ own
interests while still exercising corporate social responsibilities.
In conclusion, there is no indisputable way of and identifying and
producing gifted people for societies in general, so we need to
accommodate both sides to ensure a functional society where
academic prejudice and criminality are nearly non-existent and
everyone has equal chances of succeeding in life.
