Introduction
Today, as the world searches for solutions to global climate change, tree planting has
become more popular than ever. It’s a simple and appealing response to an
overwhelming, existential crisis, and it makes for easy messaging: anyone can go out and
plant a tree to help restore balance to Earth’s climate. But for many large-scale tree-
planting initiatives, the focus is on the number of new trees that end up in the ground, not
on planting the right trees in the right places or caring for them after planting to ensure
they survive.

“Blessed is he who plants trees under whose shade he

will never sit.”
The main objective in tree planting is to allow a tree to be securely placed in the ground so that it can
grow and thrive. Trees take many years to grow and must be closely monitored until established.
Trees are essential for greenery and important part of the environment
planting trees is to restore native forests around the village to protect water supplies. Tree plantation
means planting more trees in a planned way. It is very necessary for the environment. Many things have
been created by Allah for the welfare of human beings. They have made related to nature. Nature helps
us in many ways. Planting of trees and their care is a holy act.
The Adopt-a-Plant scheme is a wellbeing project that provides
opportunities for King’s postgraduate researchers to network and socialise
around shared experiences of researching at King’s, whilst cultivating
plants and learning craft activities.

Growing fruit with children offers a unique chance to teach them about the
importance of healthy foods and nutrition. Whether the fruit-eaters are
children, animals or impoverished neighbors -- fruit trees take advantage
of Mother Nature's natural resources system...and deliver shade, soil
conditioning, food for wildlife...and food for humans and our animals. And
it lasts for decades! That's a lot for one simple plant to gift us with.
I have planted curry plant (Murraya koenigii), also known as
karivepallai, karivembu, karivepaku or kadipatta, is a kind of tree. It is found mostly
in hot climates, and is a native plant of India. The leaves of the curry tree are called
curry leaves or sweet Neem leaves.
This tree being indigenous to India, Srilanka and many South east Asian countries
is known by several vernacular names such as Kadi Patta or Meetha Neem in
Hindi, Kariveppilai in Tamil, Karivepaaku in Tamil or Karivempu in Malayalam.
The leaves have found its way in many holistic treatments like
Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and traditional Chinese treatments for
their medicinal properties in treating diabetes, diarrhea, gastro
intestinal disorders etc. The extract from the curry leaves have an
active constituent which is anti-diabetic in nature and hence are
widely used for the treatment of diabetes. The paste from the
dried grounded leaves also have anti-helminthic, anti-fungal and
anti-bacterial properties, which are potent against various
infections and skin disorders.
Packed with essential vitamins, carbohydrates, fibre and volatile
oils, curry leaves play a vital role in controlling diabetes, treating
heart problems, preventing infections and also providing beautiful
hair and skin.

Trees in your backyard can be home to many
different types of wildlife. They can also reduce your
heating and cooling costs, help clean the air, add
beauty and color, provide shelter from the wind and
sun, and add value to your home.
Benefits of curry plant

❑ Rich in powerful plant compounds

Curry leaves are rich in protective plant substances, such as alkaloids, glycosides,
and phenolic compounds, that give this fragrant herb potent health benefits.

❑ May reduce heart disease risk factors

Risk factors like high cholesterol and triglyceride levels may increase your risk of
developing heart disease. Adding curry leaves to your diet may help reduce some
of these risk factors.

❑ May have neuroprotective properties

Some research has shown that curry leaves may help protect the health of your
nervous system, including your brain.
❑ May have anticancer effects Curry leaves contain compounds that have
significant anticancer effects. A test-tube study involving three curry extract
samples from curry leaves grown in different locations in Malaysia found that
they all exhibited powerful anticancer effects and inhibited the growth of an
aggressive type of breast cancer

❑ Beneficial for blood sugar control. Animal research has demonstrated that
curry leaf extract may help reduce high blood sugar levels and protect against
symptoms related to diabetes, including nerve pain and kidney damage

❑ Has anti-inflammatory effects. Curry leaves contain a wide array of anti-

inflammatory compounds, and animal research has shown that curry leaf extract
can help reduce inflammation-related genes and proteins
