I. OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons exercises
and remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies.
These are assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives support the
learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in
learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of functions, rational functions,
inverse functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions. Also, the key concepts of
simple and compound interests, and simple and general annuities. Understand the basic
concepts of stocks and bonds, the basic concepts of business and consumer loans and the
basic concepts of business and consumer loans. Understand the key concepts of propositional
logic; syllogisms and fallacies as well as the key methods of proof and disproof.

B. Performance Standards The learner is able to accurately construct mathematical models to represent real-life situations
using function, accurately formulate and solve real-life problems involving rational functions.
Apply the concepts of inverse functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions to
formulate and solve real-life problems with precision and accuracy. Investigate, analyze and
solve problems involving simple and compound interests and simple and general annuities
using appropriate business and financial instruments. Use appropriate financial instruments
involving stocks and bonds in formulating conclusions and making decisions. Decide wisely on
the appropriateness of business or consumer loan and its proper utilization. Judiciously apply
logic in real-life arguments and appropriately apply a method of proof and disproof in real-life
situations.

C. Learning Competencies/ Solves problems involving quadratic equations and rational algebraic equations
by;
Objectives (Write the LC code a. Illustrating quadratic equations
for each) b. Solving quadratic equations through multiplication and addition
c. modeling real-life situations using quadratic functions.
II. CONTENT Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to
teach in the CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.

Evaluating Quadratic Equation

III. LEARNING RESOURCES List the materials to be used in different days. Varied sources of materials sustain children’s
interest in the lesson and in learning. Ensure that there is mix of concrete and manipulative
materials as well as paper based materials. Hands on learning promotes concept development.

B. Other Learning Resources Statistics and Probability for Senior High School Curriculum book

IV. PROCEDURES These steps should be done across the week. Spread the activities appropriately so that the
students will learned well. Always be guided by the demonstration of learning by the students
which you can enter from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by
providing students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question
their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life
experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.

and achievement

A. Reviewing Previous lesson or

presenting the new lesson

B. Establishing a purpose for This lesson was about quadratic equations and how they are illustrated in real
the lesson life. The lesson provided you with opportunities to describe quadratic equations using
practical situations and their mathematical representations. Moreover, you were given
the chance to formulate quadratic equations as illustrated in some real-life situations.
Your understanding of this lesson and other previously learned mathematics concepts
and principles will facilitate your learning of the next lesson, Solving Quadratic
Equations

C. Presenting examples/ A quadratic equation in one variable is a mathematical sentence of degree 2 that can
instances of the be written in the following standard form.

Numerical coefficient- is any constant term that is in front of one or more
variables in a mathematical expression
Variable- a quantity that may assume any one of a set of values
Exponent- a quantity representing the power to which a given number or
expression is to be raised
Constant- occurring continuously over a period of time.

VI. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress
this week. What works? What else needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what
help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask
them relevant questions.
