PARTS OF MICROSCOPE

Ocular Lens/Eye Piece – This is where you will put your eyes to see the specimen.
Usually, it has 10X magnification. The magnification of the Ocular lens will be
multiplied to the magnification of the Objective Lens to get the final magnification of the
Microscope.
Body Tube – Holds the Ocular Lens/Eye Piece in place. Although, it is called a Tube.

Revolving Nosepiece – It is located at the bottom of the Body Tube. This holds the
Objective Lenses. A turretlike circular mechanism rotates so that different lenses can be
selected.
Objective Lens – Eto yung lens na ginagamit sa ilalim ng Revolving Nosepiece.
Merong 4 classification yung Objective lens.
1. 4X (Scanning Objective) – Used for Initial Location
2. 10X (Low-Power Objective) – Used for initial Location as well
3. 40X (High-Power Objective/High-Dry Objective) – Mataas but it doesn’t need
oil, kaya DRY.
4. 100X (Oil Immersion Objective or OIO/High-Oil Objective) Mataas and it
needs oil to see.
So, Basically, kung 10X yung Magnification ng Ocular Lens mo, tas ginagamit mo is
yung 40X, total of Magnification mo nun is 400X because 10 x 40.
Mechanical Stage – This is where you put the Microscopic Slide.
Mechanical Stage Clip – Eto yung umiipit sa Microscopic Slide sa Stage.
Condenser Lens – This is where the light is being focused. Basically, parang finofocus
neto yung light na nag gagaling sa Lamp or Illuminator nung Microscope para Makita
nang maayos yung nasa Microscopic Slide.
Iris Diaphram – Eto naman yung nag aadjust kung ilang light lang pwede mag pass
through sa Condenser Lens.
Stage Clip Adjustment Knobs – eto yung nag aadjust sa Stage (Side and side, Front
and Back)
Lamp/Illuminator – From the word itself, this lighten ups the Microscopic Slides.
Course Adjustment Knob – Moving the stage up and down, for helping the objective
lens to focus on the specimen even more.
Fine Adjustment Knob – This is more on like the Lens sa DSLR. Para mas mafocus, I
dunno, ganon yung pag kakaintindi ko dyan.
