GUI Principles

(“Graphical User interface”).

Some Principles for Graphical user interface design are following:

 Clear:
The interface should be clearly Visible. i.e., in terms of Visual elements, texts etc. it is most
crucial factor of GUI.

 Familiar:
The interface should be designed in such a way that it is very much familiar to the user. Use
the language this is near or understood via the consumer/user. So, the user can without
difficulty use it.

 Responsiveness:
The interface needs to offer immediate reaction to the consumer/user actions or requests. It
should be able to carry out actions as fast as viable.

 Good Performance and Efficiency:

The interface needs to be in this type of manner that it minimizes the person’s palms and
eyes motion, i.e., the tasks or action may be finished in few steps and as speedy as viable.

 Simplicity:
The interface needs to observe the “KISS” ("keep it simple and Sweet”) principle.
offer consistency inside the layout.

 Easy to Understand:
The System needs be in this type of manner that it can easily be understood or learned. The
user should know about (5 W’s and 1 H) related to the system.

 Compatibility:
The system should be compatible with the user, it should be according to the user will. It
should adopt the user’s perspective.

 Actions Feedback:
The System should give response to the user’s actions. Like if the task is done or completed
the user gets the message or feedback in form of audio. Same if the wrong action is
performed.
