The Production Concept of Romeo and Juliet

The current production concept for the drama Romeo and Juliet will be based on the difference

present among generations. The major part of the drama is based on the rivalry that is present

among the older generation and the love that is crafted by the younger generation. Since there is

a major difference present among the generation, the sufferings of the love birds are mostly

created by these very differences among the generations.

The feud between the Montagues and Capulets in the drama, and on the contrary, the love

between their children represent the differences that are present in the current time. This theme

can be used for the presentation of the efforts that are put by the younger generations of this era

which are constantly trying to break the stereotypes and taboos imposed by the older generations.

Those cultural and social constructs are affecting the current generation; many times, the older

generations are found to be protecting these.

On the other hand, the younger generations bleed in an attempt to end these inhuman or unfair

practices. Many of the younger generations of the families are constantly battling with the

traumas, toxic cultures, and values that are underpinning their lives to the set structure of the

family. The same is presented in the drama, in which the dispute between the older generations

affects the younger generations; however, they still try their best to end it by standing with their

love.

The love in the drama can present the current age-positive and healthy environment that the

younger generations are carving for. Whereas, the dispute and fight between the older

generations will depict the negative structure of the families that affect the younger generations.

The murders that Romeo is the culprit for are the mistakes that the younger generations are

making in an attempt to live in a positive environment. The ending of the drama can depict the

end of these toxic cultures in the families and a positive and healthy environment and the world

for the upcoming generations who will live in a comparatively better world than the generation

who sacrificed themselves for these generations.

Based on this production concept, the dialogs of the drama will be created to present the very

theme to provide the viewers with a plot to which they can relate.
