Why visit Lanao Del Sur?

Not many people know of Lanao Del Sur and its beautiful destinations. Most people would opt for a
more popular destination as Boracay or Baguio. But Lanao Del Sur won’t be left behind in terms of
attractive beaches and spectacular mountains. This region is a hidden gem in the country, with it’s
unique Maranao culture such as the Singkilfolk dance, and a large lake with a surface area of 340 km²
known as Lake Lanao. This destination is perfect for those who love to hike, and want to experience a
peaceful and relaxing vacation.

Transportation

The fastest and cheapest way to get to Lanao Del Sur is to book a flight to Cotabato Airport in
maguindanao. Since the airports in Lanao Del Sur are community airports. From there we can transport
you via bus or a rented van toyour accommodation establishment.

A rented van is preferred when travelling around Lanao Del Sur since tour buses are non existent in this
region.

Gastronomy

Local delicacies in Lanao Del Sur includes:

 Kuning
Kuning is a rice that is colored with turmeric and flavored with salt, Laurel leaves and olive oil. It
is cooked the usual way, creating the kuning.
Kuning can be translated as “Yellow Rice” but is More known as “Turmeric Rice”

 Rendang
Originating in Indonesia, it found its way into the island of Mindanao by trade and
migration.Rendangis usually cooked with beef and is described as caramelized beef curry.
Rendang may be compared with beef calderetawith a hint of latik and curry.
