Job Design
- a core function of human resource management and it is related to the specification of
contents, methods, and relationship of jobs in order to satisfy technological and organizational
requirements as well as the social and personal requirements of the job.
Job Specification
- a written statement of educational qualifications, specific qualities, level of experience,
physical, emotional, technical and communication skills required to perform a job,
responsibilities involved in a job and other unusual sensory demands.
Job Description
- an internal document that clearly states the essential job requirements, job duties, job
responsibilities, and skills required to perform a specific role. A more detailed job description
will cover how success is measured in the role so it can be used during performance
evaluations.

1. Medical laboratory technologists perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist
physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating and preventing disease.

c. The Medical Technologist performs professional laboratory work following established clinical
procedures such as analyzing blood, serum or tissue for evidence of diseases using manual
methods or automated machine. They perform chemical and biological tests and results are
then reported to physicians to assist with medical diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Collect and prepare blood, urine and tissue samples for analysis.
Collaborate with pathologist and other medical specialists to determine correct diagnosis if cell
abnormalities are discovered.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and

Must be very exact and accurate when running tests and equipment. Errors in testing
can seriously endanger patients' health.
Make decisions that affect patients on a daily basis. They rarely consult a supervisor
before deciding a course of action.

Set most of their daily tasks and goals without talking to a supervisor first.
Abide by strict deadlines. Test results cannot be delayed.
Must sometimes let the pace of work be dictated by the speed of the equipment.

If there's a problem with an employee, measures for corrective action are taken before there is
a firing.
Keeping the Customers Satisfied
This affects the facility's financial health as well as its profile in the community.
