Prototype

For my prototype I will be focusing on Grade 8 students

with ADHD within the classroom. The following prototype
will address multiple aspects in how educators can
approach and cater for students with ADHD.

Current research mentions effective teaching strategies

for students who have ADHD, including but not exclusive
to, accommodations, instructions, interventions and
technology, broken down, these strategies can motivate
students and ensure they adjust to the classroom
environment (Brooks, 2020).

Instruction
Create worksheets (Frequent short quizzes,
rather than long tests)
Ensure students maintain their own
homework via shared drives both teacher
and student can access

Intervention
Allow disruptive students to break, or
use stress balls as a physical outlet
Discuss behaviour in private rather
than ‘calling out’

Tools and
implementation
1. Assistive Technology (AT), can be
used on any device to tackle
challenges at school.
2. Quizlet, Teams, etc. Making learning
and communication more functional
within the classroom (Can also be
used externally)
