1. The axolotl, is an incredible 100% mexican animal of
the family Ambystomatidae, It is known as the "Peter
pan" of the salamanders because when it grows up it
maintains most of its larval characteristics and also it
develops mainly in captivity because they are critically
endangered in their natural habitat.
2. It is carnivorous, eating worms, insect larvae, small
crustaceans, and fish
3. Gets to live from 15 to 10 years
4. Also, lives in lakes and canals south of Mexico City.
11. It has a tail, fins and gills like a fish, but legs like an
amphibian
12. Unlike other amphibians, they do not undergo
metamorphosis.
