SETTING UP A TROLLEY AND CADDY

A trolley is a movable cart designed to keep linen

and supplies to the guestrooms.
It holds items such as plastic bag containers for garbage and
hygiene supplies, cleaning agents like detergent and
chemicals, cleaning equipment, and varieties of cloths.
Trolley also gathers supplies from the guestrooms. However,
a caddy is a small and handy container that is used to store
cleaning supplies and materials in an organized way.

TLE 9-HOUSEKEEPING
Quarter 1-Week 3
Below are the things to keep in mind when setting up and using a trolley.

1. Always maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the trolley.

2. Stack the linen on the shelves with folds facing outwards.
3. Place a bag container for soiled items to one end of the trolley.
4. Set up all the needed items on the shelves of the trolley for convenience.
5. Position the trolley outside the room where you are servicing so people would know that you
are working.
6. Avoid trolley from blocking fire exits.
7. Regularly empty linen bag and garbage container.
8. Prevent overloading your trolley. Keep only necessary things for cleaning.
9. Move the trolley carefully to prevent bumping on the walls and people were passing.
10. Clean and sanitize the trolley right away after using it.
11. Store the trolley properly in the service area away from fire exits and doorways.
A cleaning caddy keeps your needed cleaning supplies in one spot. It is easy to carry around
your working station.

Here are some important things to remember when setting up a

cleaning caddy:

1. Make sure that you gathered and stored all the necessary
cleaning supplies and materials like detergent, gloves, scrubbing
foam, etc.
2. Avoid putting too many supplies in the caddy. Overloading can
break the handle of the caddy or the caddy itself.
3. After using each supply, bring it back to the section it is
located to prevent misplacing.
4. Regularly check the materials and supplies. Refill the empty
bottles of water or liquid detergent.
Wash the soiled cloths before returning it
5. Store the caddy to the place that can be easily grabbed whenever you use it like under the
kitchen or bathroom sink, in the laundry room or cabinet
