Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other
text types serve as sources of wisdom in expressing and resolving conflicts among individuals,
groups and nature; also how to use evaluative reading, listening and viewing strategies, special
speeches for occasion, pronouns and structures of modification.
Performance Standard: The learner composes a short but powerful persuasive text using a
variety of persuasive techniques and devices.
Learning Competencies:
a. Determining the effect of textual aids like advance organizers, titles, non-linear illustrations.
Learning Content: Lesson 4: Linear or Non-linear Texts

Introduction
A. Motivation Technique
o The teacher will present a video clip and the student will list down all the
important matters that is being presented.
Processing Questions:
1. What did you observed in the video presentation?
2. What have you understood? Explain.

o The student will be given a time to explain and understand what linear and non-
linear texts is.
