Tournament Location

Ashbridges Bay Park, 1681 Lakeshore Boulevard East, Toronto, ON Vehicles can enter Ashbridge's Bay Park from Lakeshore Boulevard East, just east of Coxwell Avenue. Public transit includes the Queen 501 streetcar, Woodbine South 92 and Coxwell 22 buses. There is no arranged transportation from the hotel to the beach. All players are required to register through Volleyball Canadas online registration system at www.volleyball.ca. Registration system will be activated on July 12th 2010.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If there are less than 8 teams registered in the 24U categories (per gender) by the early bird deadline, this category will be cancelled. Teams registered in this category will be given the choice to play in Senior Division 2.
Early Bird Registration deadline: August 3rd, 2010 (11:59:59pm Eastern Time) $40 discount for Early Bird Registration. Registration deadline: August 17th, 2010 (11:59:59pm Eastern Time). Competition Information

Eligibility

Any team participating in a Prov/Terr Championship is eligible to participate in the 2010 National Championship in the same age category. Teams not participating in Prov/Terr Championships because of participation in other Volleyball Canada programs must consult the 2010 Eligibility Requirements. Youth 14U: Born in 1996 or later 16U: Born in 1994 or later 18U: born in 1992 or later 21U: Born in 1989 or later 24U: Born in 1986 or later Senior Division 1 and Division 2 No age restriction The FIVB Official Beach Volleyball Rules will be used with the exception of the Volleyball Canada rule variation for 2010 available here. All teams have to fulfill referee assignments, as specified on tournament schedules. When a team loses an elimination-round match, they are on duty for one more match. Volleyball Canada Court Supervisors will oversee all matches. All gold medal matches will be officiated by Volleyball Canada certified officials.

Players on the same teams must wear the same color and same style of bottoms and must wear tops of the same color and style on all courts. Players must wear tops provided at check-in for all matches, and it must be worn at all times while on court. Volleyball Canada will provide 1 top per player. Additional tops will be sold at time of check-in and on-site.

Seeding of teams

Within one province, teams are seeded according to the 2009 provincial results, as established by each PTA. Then, provincial order is determined by 2008 National Championships in the same age category.
