Notes

- Completed entry forms should be sent to Richard Crowther by the closing date. Confirmation of entry shall be sent
immediately after the closing date (by email for those supplying an email address, otherwise include a stamped self-
addressed envelope with your entry). Entrants not having received confirmation of entry before two days after the closing
date should ring Richard Crowther.
- All entrants must be registered with the Match Secretary and Table Tennis England and must have played at
least 4 current Winter League matches prior to the entry closing date, with the exception of members of
affiliated clubs or those who attend Association coaching sessions who are not registered to play in Winter
League and do not play in other leagues may enter any events for which they would be eligible. Players who
have not played in at least 4 matches are able to request entry based on extenuating circumstances and the
Management Committee will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis.

- A player may enter one divisional event for which they qualify and that will be the division that their nominated team is
competing in at the time of the entry deadline.

- Under 11s must be under 11, Cadets must be under 15 and Juniors must be under 19 on 31.12.2022. Please note that
the ITTF, ETTU and Table Tennis England definition of Junior has changed from Under-18 to Under-19 in 2021-22
and onwards.

- Veterans must be 40 or over, Super Vets must be 55 or over and Over 70s must be 70 or over on 31.12.2022.

- Men’s and Ladies' Singles entrants who do not qualify through the group stages for the knockout stages will
automatically be entered, free of charge, into the Mixed Plate event.

- Entrants for the Junior Singles will be entered, free of charge, for the Junior Doubles. Partners will be drawn.

- The draw and handicapping will take place on Friday 27th January 2023. Entrants will be notified of any changes to the
timetable.

- No entries will be accepted after the draw has taken place unless a mistake has been made by the organisers.

- The organisers reserve the right to vary the programme and/or to cancel an event should circumstances warrant such
action.

- All competitors must report to Control on arrival, no later than their event start time, and should not leave the premises
without first obtaining the permission of Control.

- Players absent when called upon to play are liable to be scratched.

- All competitors will be expected to umpire matches. The losing player in a knock-out match must remain at the table to
umpire the next match on that table. The umpire must arrange for score-sheet, board and ball to be returned to Control
immediately after completion of the match.

- Umpires should time the start of each game to ensure that Expedite is applied correctly. The Expedite System shall
come into operation when a first to 11 points game is unfinished after 10 minutes play, unless both players or pairs have
scored at least 9 points, or at an earlier time at the request of both players or pairs. Please report to Control for the
assistance of a Counter. Once introduced, the system shall remain in operation for the remainder of the match.

- There will be no separate practice facilities but competitors will be allowed to practice on tables not currently in use, at
the discretion of Control.

- The first round of some events will be played in groups (on a round-robin basis) ensuring that each entrant has at least
two games. This will be subject to the number of entrants and the availability of tables. You will receive instructions about
this on the day.

- Matches will be best of 5 games and first to 11 points in most events, but Handicap and Plate events may be different.
You will be told about this on the day.

- Car parking is available at and around the venue.

- There are changing facilities.

- Light hot and cold refreshments will be on sale throughout the day at the venue.

- There will be a Raffle in aid of Association funds. We would welcome donations of prizes or money in lieu. Please hand
in to Control.

- In the event of any issues arising that are not provided for, the decision of the Organisers and Referee shall be final.
