Essay. Answer each question with no less than 150 words.

1. Differentiate Operational Inspection and Nonroutine Inspection.

Standard airline service operations and inspections may be referred to as "no. 1 service,"
"no. 2 service," "A" check, and "B" check. These numerous operations will consist of a
combination of normal and unique procedures. Depending on the length of time the aircraft
is in flight, station staff may execute a no. 1 service each time the aircraft lands or after
multiple landings. Typically, the service includes the rectification of significant log items in
addition to standard service and a walk-around inspection. The walk-around inspection
encompasses all elements that may be viewed from the ground. At this point, the engine
check involves a glance at the engine inlet and fan, the observation of any fuel or oil leaking
from engine pods and a flashlight inspection of the tailpipe and turbine area.

Non-routine inspections demand the same methods as daily and periodic inspections. These
methods include unaided visual inspection, inspection with lights, the use of magnifying
glasses, the application of fluorescent or dye penetrants, the use of a borescope or
videoscope and radiography methods. Typically, the engine's maintenance handbook will
describe the most effective procedure for a given check.

2. Explain the Hot Section Inspection in your own understanding.

A hot section inspection is needed to find out if the parts in the hot section of the engine are
still in good condition. The combustion area, turbine inlet guide vanes, turbine wheels and
other parts make up the hot section of the engine. Hot section inspection intervals differ a lot
depending on how long it's been since the last overhaul and how long the engine has been
in service. Most of the time, hot section inspections are done based on "time-in-service" or
"on-condition." When engine parameters start to get worse, this is also a sign that a hot
section inspection is needed. No matter how long the engine has been in service, an
inspection should be done whenever the engine operational conditions requires.
