HIGH FERTILITY RATES

High fertility rates are caused by less usage of contraceptions.
This is because in Nigeria people don’t understand what family
planning is and believe in the idea of more the people more the
money.
The rates are high as people also get married at a early age.

MARITAL AGE LIMIT

The legal age for marriage for women is 18 years while for men it
is 24 years.
This was the first policy.
This helps in decreasing the fertility rate over a long time.

BIRTH INTERVALS
Pregnancies in the age bracket 18 to 35 years can have babies at
intervals of 2 years only.
This is the second policy introduced by the government.
This creates less time for conceiving a child and this will drop the
fertility rates in the future.
