I. INTRODUCTION

A good quality education is one that provides all learners with

capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop
sustainable livelihoods, contribute to peaceful and democratic societies and
enhance individual well-being. The learning outcomes that are required vary
according to context but at the end of the basic education cycle must include
threshold levels of literacy and numeracy, basic scientific knowledge and life
skills including awareness and prevention of disease. Capacity development
to improve the quality of teachers and other education stakeholders is
crucial throughout this process.

While there are different perspectives of the learning process such as

learning achievement and faculty perspectives, students’ perspectives are
especially critical since they are ultimately the raison d’être of the
educational endeavor (Chickering & Gamson, 1987). More pragmatically,
students’ perspectives provide invaluable, first-hand insights into their
experiences and expectations (Dawson et al., 2019). The student
perspective is especially important when new teaching approaches are used
and when new technologies are being introduced (Arthur, 2009; Crews &
Butterfield, 2014; Van Wart, Ni, Ready, Shayo, & Court, 2020).

Effective and responsive learner support services will help learners

succeed in an open and distance e-learning (ODeL) environment as distance
education students and ultimately achieve their learning goals. Learning
support services are as important as providing learners with an excellent
academic content to guarantee their educational achievement. Student
services are the “administrative backbone of higher education” and are
oftentimes the first and last contact points of the students (Voorhis and
Falkner, 2018). Moreover, an adequate learner support services plays an
essential role in creating a feeling of belonging to students who do not have
access to traditional services (Usun, 2018)
II. RATIONALE

One of the greatest and most common problems students face in

school is forgetting their projects, homework assignments and requirements,
coping up with the various lessons from different subjects, adapting to
changes in schedules, and accessing official announcements made by the
teachers or the Institution itself. Most of the time, students find it more
efficient and easy to use the internet specifically through Facebook
(including Facebook groups, Facebook pages, and messenger). The only
problem with the information shared on these sites is that they are not so
trustworthy and sometimes confusing.

To solve this problems, we propose that Colegio De San Ignacio would
have its own Student Online School Portal (SOSP) where in all
announcements and reminders, lessons and activities, schedule and many
other more information are accessible and exclusive to the CDSI
Community, all information are organized based on different categories like
announcements, lessons, activities, grades, etc..

With this, it would be easier for the students to manage their

tasks and the Institution and the teachers could easily rely certain
announcements or necessary data.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The school will need a product that is good enough to make a school
portal. A portal should let the students have an access at the online
registration system, view their grades, request for documents and update
their contact information. It also includes links to the learning management
system, library and other online services exclusive for Don Bosco Tarlac
students.

PURPOSE
This paper will describe the problems of students in school and
explain how we could help them by proposing a project proposal.

OBJECTIVES

To know the perceptions of the students and the administrators

whether they would agree to have a student online portal.

METHODOLOGY

We first have to seek for the approval of the school head and the
whole Colegio de San Ignacio Community. After the approval we would
disseminate the information which is possible during the assemblies or by
explaining it at RHGP hours. And to reproduce survey questionnaires.
