1. General Information

1.1 about Tatung

1.1.1 Tatung company

Late Mr. Shan-Chih Lin, founder and first chairman of Tatung Company, set up Hsieh-Chih Company
in 1918. He established credit and reputation by completing more than 600 constructions, including the
Building of the Executive Yuan, in the span of 30 years. In 1939, Tatung Iron Works was established as the
first private steel and machinery manufacturer in Taiwan.

Aware that able people are the most important asset of a business and that education of industrial
talent can facilitate progress of industrialization, Mr. Shan-Chih Lin wound his own business up in 1942
and donated his own property to establish Tatung Schools-Company. The founder donated 10 percent of
his property to all the Tatung colleagues so that they were able to become employee-shareholders. Other
80 percent was donated to the Hsieh-Chih Association for the Development of Industry, which
appropriated funds for the formation of Hsieh-Chih Industrial Awards, Hsieh-Chih Industrial Scholarship,
Tatung University and Hsieh-Chih Publishing Company, as well as for the inauguration of Tatung
Schools-Company, a unique education-industry integrated program in the world. Dr. T. S. Lin was then
appointed by the founder to take up a position with three functions - professor, president and chairman of
Tatung Schools-Company. Since then, Dr. Lin has dedicated himself to the unique sublime management
principles--“Education-Industry Integration for Research and Development”, “Labor-Management
Cooperation for Industrial Autonomy”, “Social Investment for Publicly-owned Company”, and “Creating
Profits to Share with Customers.”

Tatung commenced to produce electric motors and electric fans in 1949. Being a forerunner, Tatung
laid the foundation of electric motor manufacturing in Taiwan. Under Dr. Lin’s unremitting leading,
Tatung continued to grow and prosper through incessant endeavor in accumulation of capital power,
technical power and management power during the past decades. At present, Tatung Company has more
than 40 subsidiaries around the world, 35,000 employees including 15,000 overseas and over 220,000
shareholders including 20,000 employee-shareholders. Tatung now produces and markets more than 300
different kinds of products and the annual worldwide sales reach US$ 6.8 billion. Tatung has become an
international and diversified industrial company of long history and grand scale in the field of heavy
electric products, electronic products, electric appliances and information products in Taiwan.

1.2 Technical Information

To equip an electric motor for industrial applications, many technical aspects, such as electrical
requirements, mechanical requirements, facilities and environmental conditions, need to be considered and
then an optimal and suitable selection can be made. The commonly concerned technical information is
introduced in the following sections.

1.2.1 Output

Output rating of electric motors should be determined to suit loading and necessary power of driven
equipment. Over rating is not economical since it not only costs excess money for larger motor size but
also reduces operation efficiency and power factor. On the other hand, insufficient rating may cause
starting failure and / or running trouble due to continuous over-load operation.

The necessary output for different loading can be calculated by different equations. Some common
examples are shown in the following table.

In general, the evaluated value of necessary output of driven machine plus 5% ~ 15% to
accommodate voltage or efficiency variation is set as the required output rating for continuous duty. In
IEC standard, there are recommended preferred rated output values in series. It would be better the
decided output values are in accord with those shown in the standard. Some common larger values in that
series are shown below.

Primary series of preferred output values (kW)

1.2.2 Voltage

Rated voltage has an important connection with output of electric motors. It is impractical to build
motors of all output ratings for all rated voltage. Proper decision of rated voltage can not only facilitate
motor performance but also put the equipment in economical commissioning and operation. The relation
between voltage and corresponding suitable range of output rating of three phase induction motors is
demonstrated by the following drawing.

There are different rated voltages and frequencies in different countries, e.g. low rated voltage is
380V/50Hz in main European countries but 230V/460V/60Hz in the United States. Tatung motors are
produced for wide voltage ranges and both frequencies and thus can serve the global market.

1.2.3 Duty

Duty is the statement of the loads to which the motor is subjected, including starting, electric braking,
and no-load and rest periods, and including their duration and sequence in time. There are four basic duty
types, i.e., continuous running duty, short-time duty, periodic duty and non-periodic duty. These duty types
are classified by symbols S1, S2… and S10 in IEC Standard. Definitions of the designation are introduced
in the following table.

The customer should specify the duty type by numerically describing where the load varies or not in
a known manner, or by a time sequence graph of variable quantities, or by simply selecting a suitable class
designation. In the absence of declaration of the duty type, continuous running duty S1 will be assumed to
apply. All outputs given in this catalog are based on continuous running duty S1.

1.2.4 Torque

The torque value of a motor varies with its rotation speed and the torque characteristic depends on the
electrical construction of rotor. A typical torque-speed curve is shown below.

In order to drive the driven machine, motor torque must be larger than “load torque”, which is
required to overcome the inertia of the driven machine. The load torque characteristic is very different for
various load types. Customer should declare the load type and motor manufacturer must sufficiently
understand the load torque characteristic so that they can determine the optimal motor torque
11
characteristic by suitable electrical design of rotor. Some typical load characteristics are listed in the
following table.

1.2.5 Insulation

An electric motor’s insulation system is an assembly of insulating materials which separate electrical
components from each other and prevent short circuits and winding burnout and failure. The endurance of
the insulation system is affected by many factors such as temperature, electrical and mechanical stresses,
vibration, harmful atmosphere and chemicals, moisture, and dirt, etc. Because temperature is very often
the dominating ageing factor on insulating materials and insulation system of electric motors, the
insulation systems are divided into classes according to their thermal endurance. Some common classes
and corresponding temperature limits are shown in the following table.

Insulation Class Maximum Winding Temperature Temperature Rise

A 105o C 60 K

E 120o C 75 K

B 130o C 80 K

12
Insulation Class Maximum Winding Temperature Temperature Rise

F 155o C 105 K

H 180o C 125 K

l Maximum ambient temperature 40o C

l Temperature measurement method: Resistance method

Tatung standard motors are designed to have class F insulation with class B temperature rise. This
gives an extra 25o C thermal safe margin. There is a rule of thumb that says a 10o C rise reduces the
insulation life by half, while a 10o C decrease doubles the insulation life. Thus such design will
significantly extend the insulation life.

1.2.6 Starting methods

Some starting methods can be adopted according to power supply facilities, limitation of starting
current, starting torque and acceleration characteristic, impact on driven machine and other specifications
and requirements. Two common methods, Full voltage starting and Y-∆ starting, are introduced as follows.

Direct-on-line (D.O.L.) starting (Full voltage starting)

The simplest way to start a squirrel cage motor is to connect it directly to the main power supply. In
this case, a direct-on-line (D.O.L.) starter is the only required starting equipment. When the supply voltage
(rated voltage) is directly exerted on the motor, it will result in starting current of about 500% ~ 700% of
full load current. This high starting current will cause significant voltage drop and, if the power supply
capacity is not high enough, will damage the other machines connected to the same power supply.
Nevertheless, D.O.L. starting is still a pretty common starting method. What range of the output rating can
D.O.L. starting be acceptable depends on power supply capacity, cable size and voltage drop.

Y-∆ starting
If high starting current may have significant effect on the relevant equipment, the Y-∆ starting
method can be employed. The motor is started with the winding Y-connected where the phase voltage will
be of 1/ 3 of the line voltage and the starting current will be reduced to 1/3 of the value for ∆-connection,
i.e., the starting current will be about 200% of full load current. The winding should be switched to ∆-
connection after the motor started and the running speed up to 70% ~ 90% of rated speed. On the other
hand, the starting torque will be also reduced to about 1/3 of the value for D.O.L. starting. Therefore, one
must check if the reduced starting torque is larger than the load torque and thus sufficient to accelerate the
load during the whole speed range.

Y-∆ starting method is usually used for motors of low voltage and low output rating since high
starting current has more influence on such motors.

13
1.2.7 Efficiency

The typical efficiency values for the rated output on full load and partial load, say, 3/4 load, 1/2 load
and 1/4 load, are listed in chapter 4. Tatung can supply guaranteed high efficiency values and partial load
values upon request.

1.2.8 Power factor

The power of a motor is consumed in two parts. The first part is used to perform mechanical work
and regarded as effective power or real output. The other part is used for magnetization but doesn’t
perform any work and thus regarded as non-effective power.

Power factor is defined as the ratio of effective power, measured in kW, to the whole power including
the non-effective power, measured in kVA. The definition of power factor is usually illustrated by the
following diagram.

S (whole power, kVA)

Q (non-effective power)

P (effective power, kW)

Power factor, PF = P / S = cosθ

The power factor is usually between 0.7 and 0.9. Typical power factor values for the rated output on
full load and partial load are listed in the performance data tables in chapter 4. Tatung can supply other
guaranteed values upon request.

Low power factor means the motor has large portion of non-effective power consumed and thus the
whole power consumed will increase. To reduce power loss and voltage drop in the wiring circuit and
increase the load capacity in the power facilities, it is necessary to improve power factor. In general, the
most economical method is to install a power factor correction capacitor.

1.2.9 Enclosure

The enclosure type of motors is mainly concerned with protection degree and cooling method of
motors. In IEC standard, protection degree and cooling method are classified by letters IP and IC followed
by characteristic numerals.

Self-circulation The coolant is moved dependent on the rotational speed of the main
machine, either by the action of the rotor alone or by means of a
1 component designed for this purpose and mounted directly on the rotor
of the main machine, or by a fan or pump unit mechanically driven by
the rotor or the main machine.

Illustrations of IC designation of the motors in the scope of this book are as follows.

Complete designation: IC 4A1A1

Simplified designation: IC 411

Complete designation: IC 6A1A1

Simplified designation: IC 611

In NEMA standard, enclosure types are also classified and defined by descriptive terminology. Some
most common types and similar IP and IC classification of IEC standard are introduced as follows.

Open Drip-Proof (ODP) è similar to IEC IP12, IC01

ODP motors have ventilating openings which permit passage of external cooling air over and around
the windings. These openings are so constructed that successful operation is not interfere with when drops
of liquid or solid particles strike or enter the enclosure at any angle from 0 to 15 degrees downward from
the vertical. ODP motors are usually used in relatively clean and indoor applications.

18
Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) è similar to IEC IP54, IC411
A totally enclosed fan cooled motor is a frame-surface cooled totally enclosed motor equipped for
self exterior cooling by means of a fan or fans integral with the motor but external to the enclosing parts.
TEFC motors are usually used in outdoor, dusty or saline area.

Totally Enclosed Air to Air Cooled (TEAAC) è similar to IEC IP54, IC511 / IC611
A totally enclosed air-to-air cooled motor is a totally enclosed motor which is cooled by circulating
the internal air through an air-to-air heat exchanger which, in turn, is cooled by circulating external air.
Internal air and external air is circulated by the fans integral with the rotor shaft but interior and exterior to
the enclosing parts respectively. TEAAC motors are suitable for outdoor, dusty or saline applications

Weather Protected Type II (WP-II) è similar to IEC IP23W, IC01

A weather protected type II motor is an open motor which ventilating passages at both intake and
outlet are so arranged that high velocity air and airborne particles blown into the motor by storms or high
winds can be discharged without entering the internal ventilating passages leading directly to the electric
parts of the motor itself. The nominal path of the ventilating air which enters the electric parts of the motor
shall be so arranged by baffling or separate housings as to provide at least three abrupt changes in
direction, none of which shall be less than 90 degrees. In addition, an area of low velocity not exceeding
600 ft/min shall be provided in the intake air path to minimize the possibility of moisture or dirt being
carried into the electric parts of the motor. WP-II motors can be used in indoor and outdoor but
non-corrosive area.

1.2.10 Mounting Arrangement

There are several mounting arrangements for electric motors, including foot-mounted,
flange-mounted and foot mounted with flange, etc. In general, customers specify motors just by
descriptive statement such as “horizontal foot mounted”. However, to specify a motor definitely, the
international standard mounting designation should be used. In IEC standard, types of construction and
mounting arrangements are classified by two IM code systems. Some common mounting arrangements
and corresponding IM designations are listed below.
Code I / Code II
IM B3 / IM 1001 (horizontal foot mounted)

IM V5 / IM 1011 (vertical shaft down foot mounted)

IM B5 / IM 3001 (horizontal flange mounted)

19
IM V1 / IM 3011 (vertical shaft down flange mounted)

IM B35 / IM 2001 (horizontal foot and flange mounted)

IM V15 / IM 2011 (vertical shaft down foot and flange mounted)

1.2.11 Environmental conditions

Standard motors are designed for operation in the environmental conditions of maximum ambient
temperature 40℃ and maximum altitude 1000 meter above sea level. If the site operating conditions
deviate from those stated above, some corrections should be given to temperature rise limits. The basic
rule is that the temperature rise limit should be reduced for ambient temperature beyond 40℃ or altitude
larger than 1000 meter. The adjustments according to IEC standard are listed below.

Adjustment to temperature rise limit (∆T) Examples for class B

20
The design for reduced temperature rise limit can be reached by output de-rating. The evaluation rule
is “square of output value proportional to temperature rise”. e.g., if the temperature rise of a 300kW motor
is to be reduced from 80K to 70K, the de-rated output value can be calculated as follows,

DT2 70
P2 = ( ) ´ P1 = ( ) ´ 300 = 280.6kW
DT1 80

If the output value is to be kept the same without de-rating, then the design may be special and
different from that of standard motors and need extra cost to standard listed price. The additional prices
considering reduced temperature rise are introduced in chapter 5.

1.2.12 Bearings

Bearing arrangement
Bearings are generally classified into two groups, anti-friction bearings (or rolling bearings) and
sleeve bearings. Anti-friction bearings are widely used for various applications while sleeve bearings are
mainly used in larger high speed or heavy loading machines.

In Tatung standard series of cast iron frame motors and some steel-plate frame motors, single row
deep groove ball bearings are used in both drive end and non-drive end. For applications with large radial
load, e.g., belt drive applications, NU- type roller bearings are used instead of ball bearings in drive end.
Three-bearing arrangement may be adopted with one NU- bearing in non-drive end and one ball bearing
and one NU- bearing in drive end. Customer should specify belt pulley data for motor maker to select
suitable bearings with satisfactory bearing life.

If there exists axial load, the most common applications are vertical motors where axial load comes
from rotor weight itself and downward axial thrust, axial load capacity should be considered. For motors
suffering smaller axial load, ball bearing in non-drive end may have sufficient axial load capacity, but for
motors with large axial load or large frame size vertical motors with axial thrust, angular contact ball
bearings or spherical roller thrust bearings are fitted to ensure reliable operation. When ordering a motor,
customer should specify the direction and magnitude of axial force if there is.

Some typical bearing arrangements are shown in the following pages.

Bearing life
Anti-friction bearing life is normally defined, according to the ISO definition, as the number of
revolutions or the number of operation hours before fatigue failure occurs that 90% of a sufficiently large
group of identical bearings can attain or exceed at a constant speed and under specific conditions. This life
definition implies 90% reliability and is called basic rating life, L10. ISO has introduced an adjusted rating
life equation as
C
L10a = a 1 ´ a 2 ´ a 3 ´ L10 = a 1 ´ a 2 ´ a 3 ´ ( ) p
P

21
where
L10a ≡ adjusted rating life, millions of revolutions (can be translated to operating hours)
L10 ≡ basic rating life, millions of revolutions (can be translated to operating hours) = ( C / P )p
C ≡ basic dynamic load rating, N
P ≡ equivalent dynamic bearing load, N
p ≡ exponent of the life equation
p = 3 for ball bearings
p = 10/3 for roller bearings
a1 ≡ adjustment factor for reliability
a1 = 1 for 90% reliability
a2 ≡ adjustment factor for material
a1 = 1 for material meets ISO definition
a3 ≡ adjustment factor for operation conditions (essentially lubrication condition)
a3 can be determined from bearing handbook

There is few international standards have criteria of acceptable bearing life for electric motors. In
general, it depends on agreement between customer and motor supplier. If bearing life is not specified by
customer, motor makers will select bearings based on their own standard. Normally, bearing life of a few
million operating hours, say 25,000 hours, is regarded acceptable if no special or severe operating
conditions are specified.

As for sleeve bearings, there is no simple method to evaluate bearing life and thus it is usually not
specified when ordering a motor. Other dynamic performance data, including oil film temperature, can be
computed. However, it is pretty complicated and can usually be executed only by professional sleeve
bearing manufacturer.

Lubrication
Grease can be used to lubricate rolling bearings under normal operating conditions in most
applications while oil lubrication is mainly used for high speed and high temperature operation and
spherical roller thrust bearings. Sleeve bearings must be also lubricated by oil.

The lubricant will gradually lose lubricating property as a result of mechanical work, ageing and
build-up of contamination. It is therefore necessary to replenish or renew the lubricant at an operation
period. There are many kinds of lubricant available in the market. Lubricants of different brand of
equivalent class may have somewhat differences of lubricating properties. Therefore motor manufacturer
should inform customer what kind of lubricant is originally filled and what the detailed lubricating
properties are so that customer can assure replenished lubricant will satisfy.

Tatung use Shell Alvania R2 grease as standard lubricant for grease lubrication motors. Its operation
temperature range is -35℃~100℃ for bearing operating at up to maximum rated speed, and up to 135℃
for bearing operating at up to 75% of maximum rated speed. Other properties are available on request. Oil
lubricant is highly concerned with loading conditions and will be determined after bearings decided.

22
1.2.13 Coupling methods

There are some coupling methods of motors with load machines. A suitable coupling method is
usually determined by the load machine supplier or the proprietor in consideration of conditions of load
machines. Coupling method is concerned with bearing selection and shaft strength of connected motors,
so customer should advise the coupling method when ordering a motor. Some typical coupling methods
are introduced as follows.

Direct coupling
The motor and load machine are coupled by a hub flange or certain part with the centerlines of motor
shaft and driven shaft aligned. There are two types of direct coupling. One is rigid coupling and the other
is flexible coupling. The former requires higher coupling assembly precision than the latter due to the
direct transmitted mechanical influence from motor shaft to driven shaft.

Belt drive
Belt drive and direct coupling are the most common coupling methods. The motor shaft and driven
shaft are mounted with pulleys and connected by belts. When driving the load machine, belt tension will
induce a radial force and thus bending stress on the motor shaft. Therefore, shaft strength and bearing life
should be checked to assure safe and reliable operation. The radial force can be derived from pulley data
as shown below. Customer should provide pulley data for motor maker to perform necessary calculation
and evaluation. If pulley data are not specified in a belt drive application, motor manufacturer may design
by his own consideration but must inform customer about the permissible radial force.

PW ≡ pulley width, mm

F ≡ radial force on shaft, kg

X ≡ distance from force position to shoulder, mm

PCD≡ pitch circle diameter of pulley, mm

N ≡ rotation speed of motor, rpm

Output (kW )
F = 1.948 ´ K ´ ´ 106
N ´ PCD

Where K is belt coefficient, varying from 2 ~ 6 and normally 2.5 for V-belt, depending on belt types.

26
Gear coupling
Gear coupling is also a method that motor shaft and driven shaft are not in alignment. For spur gear,
there will be a radial force similar to belt drive. For bevel gear or worm gear, there is additional axial force
besides radial force exerted on the motor shaft. Therefore, attention should be paid on strength calculation
in two directions.

In some cases, part of load machine, e.g., an impeller, is directly mounted or overhung on motor shaft
without use of coupling, belt or gear. There may be only radial force or axial force or both depending on
loading conditions. For these special applications, relevant detailed specifications should be obtained and
investigated between motor maker and customer or machine supplier.

1.2.14 Vibration

Abnormal large vibration level of a machine always implies a symptom of bad production or
assembly, e.g., mechanical or electrical unbalance, deformation of core or shaft, loose parts, etc. Such
vibration will induce large stress on machine construction itself or connected equipment and then shorten
the service life. Therefore, some vibration limits, such as IEC standard 34-14, are specified to assure
reliable operation.

Before vibration criteria introduced, some vibration terminology and concept are illustrated by the
following vibrating spring-mass system.

From physical and mathematical derivation, we have

vibration displacement, x = X sin wt

vibration velocity, v = dx / dt = wX cos wt = V cos wt

displacement
x
vibration acceleration, a = dv / dt = -w2 X sin wt = A sin wt

where ω is rotating angular velocity.

x
Root-mean-square value
(r.m.s. value)
peak value X
t

period, T = 2π/ω
frequency, f = 1 / T

27
IEC standard 34-14 is applicable to AC motors with shaft center height 56 mm and higher and a rated
output up to 50 MW, at nominal speed from 600 rpm up to and including 3,600 rpm, and applicable only
to no-load condition. For other conditions beyond scope of the standard, a prior agreement between
purchaser and manufacturer should be reached.

The limit of vibration severity is specified in the following table, in which values are given for three
vibration grades: N (normal), R (reduced) and S (special).

Notes:
1. If purchaser doesn’t specify grade, motors complying with IEC 34-14 shall be grade N.
2. Grade S is applicable only to motors with H ≤ 400 mm.
3. 2-pole motors may have significant vibration at twice the frequency of power supply. For 2-pole
motors with H > 225 mm, evaluation of such vibration components in rigid mounting shall be part of
motor type test, and the values shall not exceed those for H > 400 shown above.
4. For vertical motors, this standard is only applicable to motors measured in free suspension.

If sleeve bearings are used in 2 or 4 pole motors, relative shaft vibration measurements in peak-to
peak displacement are recommended rather than measurements in mm/s. Limits are shown as below table.

1.2.15 Noise

People are becoming more aware of hurt of noise to human beings in recent years and thus give more
demands on noise suppression. To evaluate how “large” a noise is, the acoustic quantities can be expressed
in two types of terms, sound power level and sound pressure level.

W
Sound power level, L W = 10 × log 10 ( )
W0
where
LW : sound power level in decibel (dB)
W : power output from the sound source in watt
W0 : basic sound output, 10-12 watt, which is defined from the minimum audible sound intensity of
human ear, 10-12 watt/m2

P 2 P
Sound pressure level (SPL), L P = 10 × log10 ( ) = 20 × log10 ( )
where
P0 P0
LP : sound pressure level in decibel (dB)
P : effective sound pressure in N/m2 (Pa). (Physically equivalent to root-mean square value of sound
pressure function of time)
W0 : basic sound pressure, 2*10-5 Pa, which is defined from the minimum audible sound pressure of
human ear

Human ears often have different hearing sense for different frequency components of the sound with
the same loudness. A correction function, A-weighting filter, is introduced in noise-meter to correct the
measured sound level in octave band to simulate human ears’ hearing perception, and the unit is expressed
as dBA. The A-weighting function curve and adjusted values corresponding to center frequencies of
octave band are shown as follows.

Center frequency 31.5 40 50 63 80 100 125 160 200 250 315 400 500
(Hz)
Adjusted value -39 -35 -30 -26 -23 -19 -16 -13 -11 -9 -7 -5 -3
(dBA)
Center frequency 630 800 1000 1250 1600 2000 2500 3150 4000 5000 6300 8000
(Hz)
Adjusted value -2 -1 0 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 0 -1
(dBA)

A-weighting function has large attenuation in

low frequency range.

29
Sound power level can be translated into sound pressure level by the following equation for motors
placed on reflective ground and emitting non-directional noise.

SPL, L P = L W - 10 × log 10 (2 pr 2 )
where
LP : average sound pressure level in a free field over a reflective plane on a hemispherical surface at 1 m
distance from the motor
r : 1 m + 0.5 * (maximum linear dimension of the measured motor in meters)

In IEC standard, maximum A-weighted sound power levels (dBA) for standard motors, at no-load,
without additional special electrical, mechanical or acoustical modifications intended to reduced noise, are
specified for a range of rated output in the following table.

Rated output, P 2 pole 4 pole 6 pole 8 pole

kW 60 Hz 50 Hz 60 Hz 50 Hz 60 Hz 50 Hz 60 Hz 50 Hz
1.0 < P ≤ 2.2 85 81 71 71 71 71 71 71

2.2 < P ≤ 5.5 88 86 76 76 76 76 76 76

5.5 < P ≤ 11 91 91 81 81 80 80 80 80

11 < P ≤ 22 94 94 88 88 84 84 84 84

22 < P ≤ 37 100 96 91 91 87 87 87 87

37 < P ≤ 55 101 98 95 94 91 90 90 89

55 < P ≤ 110 104 100 98 97 95 94 93 92

110 < P ≤ 220 107 103 102 101 99 98 97 96

220 < P ≤ 400 110 107 106 105 102 101 99 98

In practice, the above values are minimum requirements for reference. Many customers usually
specify lower noise level. “Standard” motors of different manufacturers may be quite different in electrical,
mechanical and configuration design. Their noise levels may just meet or be much better than the above
limits. For customers demands beyond the above limits or for motors of rated output or poles beyond the
range of above table, the noise levels should be specified by agreement between customer and
manufacturer by considering motor size, operating speed and environmental conditions. In the scope of
this book, Tatung has set sound pressure level 85 dBA as the standard noise level, which is better than
above values and can satisfy the most customers demands.
