PASSIVE VOICE

- El uso de la voz pasiva es mucho más común en inglés que en español, ya que en español
usamos la forma impersonal (se dice, el paquete no se entregó, etc).

- Otra característica importante de la pasiva es que la acción que describe es más importante
que el sujeto que la realiza. Bien porque no es importante o porque no lo sabemos.
FORMA Y USO E.g.: 2000 doses of the covid vaccine have been given (by nurses to people). Aquí lo importante
es que se han puesto vacunas, no el quién. Se presupone que son enfermeros.
- La pasiva siempre se forma del mismo modo: SUJETO + VERBO “TO BE” (en la forma
correspondiente de presente, pasado o futuro) + PARTICIPIO PASADO (del verbo principal, el
que tiene significado/sentido).
- Cuando se trata de una pregunta el verbo “to be” pasa a estar delante, y la estructura quedaría
así: VERBO “TO BE” (en el tiempo correspondiente) + SUJETO + PARTICIPIO PASADO (del verbo
principal).
