CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORI
Charlie Bucket is a boy who lives with his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents in
a house. They are poor and hungry and even more so when his father is fired from his job.
Charlie and his grandfather Joe dream of visiting Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, which has
been closed to the public for years. And the dream will come true. Willy Wonka, owner of the
factory, puts five golden tickets into circulation inside his chocolate bars. These tickets will
allow the five boys or girls who find them to visit the factory, take home a shipment of
chocolates and sweets for life and, for the winner, receive a very special prize. Augustus
Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee and Charlie Bucket will be the lucky
winners. They all enter with his parents, except Charlie, who is accompanied by his maternal
grandfather Joe.

Once inside they discover, from the hand of the eccentric Willy Wonka (who receives them at
the entrance of the factory), a wonderful world of chocolate and sweets. Each of the boys and
girls leaves the factory because of their hobbies, defects and bad manners. Augustus Gloop
can't handle his gluttony, falls into a river of chocolate, and is sucked into a tube that takes him
out of the compound. Violet Beauregarde, the obsessive gum chewer and tireless competitor,
becomes a blueberry for trying an experimental gum flavored with a full two-course meal and
dessert. Veruca Salt, spoiled and pampered girl who does not stop asking, she is thrown into
the waste hole by some squirrels when trying to get hold of one of them. Mike Teavee,
indefatigable viewer, is transformed into a small television character who has to be stretched out
like a piece of gum so that he can look even minimally normal again. And finally only Charlie
remains in the factory, the winner. The prize is the factory: Mr. Wonka grows older and wants
an heir, and the good-natured and prudent Charlie gave up the prize because he should be in the
factory without his family. Wonka understood what family meant.
