Summary
Poor Charlie Bucket is practically starving to death, but his luck changes for the better when he wins a
lifetime supply of candy--and a chance to visit Willy Wonka's fabulous, top-secret chocolate factory.
Five lucky people who find a Golden Ticket wrapped in one of Willy Wonka's wonderful candy bars
win a visit to his mysterious chocolate factory. Charlie Bucket is too poor to buy more than one
candy bar a year, he only buys one for his birthday, so when he wins a ticket, his whole family
celebrates. He lives with his parents and his four grand-fathers. Grand-father Joe went with Charlie to
the Factory.
The four other lucky children are not as nice as Charlie, and they're punished for their bad behaviour.
Greedy Augustus Gloop falls into the chocolate river he's trying to drink from and gets sucked up a
pipe. Chewing-gum addict Violet Beauregarde grabs a stick of gum that blows her up into a giant
blueberry. Spoiled Veruca Salt is deemed a "bad nut" by Wonka's trained squirrels and thrown in the
rubbish. And Mike Teavee demands to be "sent by television" and gets shrunk in the process. But
there's a wonderful surprise waiting for Charlie at the end of the tour.
The entire day was actually another contest, to help Willy Wonka find an heir, and Charlie wins the
entire chocolate factory. Charlie, Grandpa Joe, and Mr. Wonka enter the great glass elevator, which
explodes through the roof of the factory and crashes down through the roof of Charlie’s house,
where they collect the rest of the Bucket family
Author: Roald Dahl
I like this fragment because it has much fantasy and I like very
much the history that contains. I have chosen this topic because I
had already seen the film and I seemed very good.
Curiosidades
The film was filmed in Yorshire, United Kingdom and is the second
adaptation of the novel Charlie and the chocolate factory, first it was filmed
in 1971 and it took the name of a world of fantasy in Spain.
Nowadays there are Wonka chocolates like Willy Wonka’s Candy bars made
by Nestle.
