What is happening with the water?

well, water is getting depleted by population growth and climate change, freshwater

resources available per person have decreased by more than 20% in the last two

decades due to population growth and economic development, water scarcity

affects approximately 40% of the world's population and, according to predictions

by the United Nations and the World Bank, drought could put 700 million people at

risk of displacement by 2030.

Water problems have been among the top five hazards on the World Economic

Forum's list of Global Risks by Impact almost every year since 2012.

Why the water conservation is important?

Water conservation is important because it keeps the water clean while protecting

the environment. Conserving water means using our water supply wisely and

responsibly. Since every person depends on water for their livelihood, we must

learn to keep our limited water supply clean and away from contamination.

We use water every day, it is required in almost everything we do, we need water

for activities and habits that we use regularly.

Pumping water from the central facility requires large amounts of energy to run the

equipment. Studies show that in California, almost 7% of the energy consumed

goes to transfer water. Simply put, saving water will also lead to energy savings

and reduce your carbon footprint.

We can start saving water by making smart choices at home. We must use

appliances that are more efficient in water and energy. Using simple water
conservation tips can help cut water use by more than half. Committing to a little

effort can make all the difference. You'll even benefit from water savings from

reduced water bills in just the first month of water savings.

Reason to conserve water

 Minimizes the effects of drought and water scarcity. Although our need for

fresh water sources is always increasing due to population and climate

change, the supply we have remains constant. By reducing the amount of

water we use, we can better protect ourselves against future years of

drought.

 It guards against rising costs and political conflict. Failing to conserve water

can eventually lead to a lack of an adequate water supply, which can have

drastic consequences. These include rising costs, reduced food supplies,

health hazards, and political conflict.

 Help preserve our environment. Reducing our water use reduces the energy

required to process it and deliver it to homes, businesses, farms, and

communities, which, in turn, helps reduce pollution and conserve fuel

resources.

10 ways to save water at home

other hard surfaces.
 control the use of water in the water bill

efficiency with your friends, family, etc.
