Emma: Hi Charles! You usually play football on Fridays, don’t you? I was at the stadium yesterday but
you weren’t there. Were you at home?
Charles: No, I wasn’t. The weather was really bad yesterday so there was no football practice. I was at
the library – I have a history test next week and I need to study. I was at the stadium today in
the morning, though. It was really nice, warm and sunny. And now it’s cloudy and grey again. I
think it’s going to rain again in the evening. How about you, Emma? Where were you
yesterday?
Emma: I was at the Blue Moon concert.
Charles: Was it at school?
Emma: No, it wasn’t. It was at this cool new café in North Street.
Charles: The one next to the museum?
Emma: That’s right. It was great! There were a lot of people there. And what are you doing today?
Charles: Well, Mum’s playing tennis with her friend, my sister’s washing the car and I’m helping Dad.
He’s working in the garden. What about you?
Emma: My mum’s working at the shop today and my Dad’s making lunch. But I want to paint. It’s my
hobby, you know, but I can’t. I’m looking after my baby brother.
Charles: That sounds cool, actually. He’s really funny!
Emma: That’s true. Maybe you would like to come over and help me?
