Every human being have this capacity to learn language or a particular language not just one but many depending on the environment they belong. Theorist have spend a lot time trying to figure out how does language being learned and what is the process. Perspectives from different theorist has been consider with their fruitful ideas on language acquisition. They proved that language acquire depends on a person himself. Their environment cognitive factors and even the characteristics of the learners. The behaviourist perspectives One of the best way to learn language through behaviourism constant practice and when the language / words being repeated by a learner. It would be easy for them to adapt that language, but behaviourism is not enough to learn a particular language because there was criticism on it that children may often over- apply grammar rules, they tend to disregard the usage of grammar. As a language teacher, using behaviourism to teach language acquisition would help students develop their language skills, through repetition and constant practice will improve their language development. There is also language criticism on behaviourism this when children used to novel language that their never heard before, this can cause behaviourism an incomplete way of understanding language acquisition. The Innatist perspectives Another perspective of learning language is Innatist perspectives, it shows that every human being has this language acquisition device (LAD) or having the ability to learn language. no teaching is required, we learned language automatically as we grow and expose around. However, there are criticism of nativism and universal grammar that language only develops in the presence of others that speak the language. if a child is raised in isolation, they will not acquire language. Therefore, language is learned through the help of others by the sound they have been heard. Language is a social phenomenon. The interactionist development There are also perspectives about interactionist development. Interactionist shows that language acquire when children are exposed to physical interaction and to environment. Children learned language by process through social interaction, they proposed that there is a kind of zone of proximal development in acquiring language. Children learned the language the quickest when they have a supportive and interactive environment. All of those perspectives gives us a learning insights on how we teach language to student’s behaviourism, we can teach through mimicry and memorization, innatism, were in we need to broader the learning of the learner, what they have already know and focus on listening learner, what they have already know and focus on listening and reading activities. Also in interactionism we need to engage our learner in social interaction for them to develop quickly their language acquisition.
