Mapeh 7 Let’s Recall

-There are 5 different types of Instrumental Music in the Philippines. These are Rondalla, Band,
Musikong Bumbong, Angklung Ensemble, and Pangkat Kawayan. Rondalla is a distinctly
Filipino type of Instrumental music played by brass or native-stringed bands that originated from
Spain. It uses stringed instruments to produce multiple forms of melody. A band is a musical
ensemble that is composed of three sections: The woodwind, the brasswind, and the Percussion.
These groups classify the different instruments a band uses. Musikong Bumbong is a group that
uses bamboo instruments. The creation of this group is when they didn’t have the money to buy
instruments so they used their creativity to make their own out of Bamboo. Angklung Ensemble
is a musical group that uses an Angklung. It is a musical instrument originating from Indonesia
that produces one pitch when shaking its body. And Lastly, The Pangkat Kawayan, Also
considered as the “Singing Bamboos of the Philippines” , uses different types of nontraditional
bamboo instruments to produce local and international songs.
