Badminton

This sport was named after a


House in Gloucestershire,
England. It has its origin in Asia
and Europe. It is a popular sport
in Asia.
Shuttlecock
It has an open conical shape
formed by feathers or plastic
embedded into a rounded cork
base.
Racket
a lightweight implement that consists of a
netting (as of nylon) stretched in a usually
oval open frame with a handle attached and
that is used for striking the ball or
shuttlecock in various games (such as
tennis, racquets, or badminton)
Grip
It is the position
wherein you’re
holding the handle of
the racket.
Serve
This is the shot that
starts the game.
Low Serve
It is almost a gentle tap over the
net with the shuttle, with the
aim of flying just over the net,
yet falling just over the front
line of his service court.
High Serve
This service sends the shuttle
very high so that it falls almost
straight down and lands at the
back of the service court
Court
It is the main part of the playing
area that must be smooth but not
slippery and levelled in a
ground space measuring 17 x 44
ft. for singles and 20 x 44 ft. for
doubles.
Net
It is made of fine tanned cod
with a neck of more than 15 mm
but less than 20 mm with least
6.1 m firmly stretched from post
to post

These are placed on the side of
the boundary lines of the court
and measure 1.55 m high from
the floor.
