Prelims Output 1: MY CHURCH EXPERIENCE

1. Tell your story of the Church experience.

The experience was fantastic, however, there were a few realizations on my first visit to church
after 5 years since I wasn’t raised in a non-religious family, I was accustomed to just praying in
school because it is required in class. The visit made me feel nostalgic and new at the same time.

I grew up on a Catholic school where we go to church beside our school every first Friday of the
month, I went to that same church that is why I felt nostalgic but new because it is my first time
going there being an alumnus. Many teachers were happy to see me visit.

2. Why do you consider this a memorable experience?

My church experience was beautiful and unforgettable; I learned a lot about the faith and had the
opportunity to observe the diversity of Catholic views and customs. Since my visit helped me to
remove some of the questions and beliefs that had been in my mind by critics of the Catholic
Church, I admit that I am really a non-believer but for me, it was a beautiful experience
especially the silence of the church, before the service begins.

3. Upon close observation of the event, what are your reflections, insights, or realizations
about yourself or your life with the church?

The Church assists us in maintaining structure, teachings, and establishing a support system for
members. The Lord guarantees that proper beliefs are taught by forming a church. The Church
gives its members insights, principles, and guidelines to help them live as Christ would have
them live.

The saying “Find a church where you can have a relationship with God, rather than one where
the main focus is on the rituals of the church.” is true and I will apply it to my personal life from
now on because edification, the foundation of worship, and evangelism are the keys to any
church. Worship is oriented on Christ and God, not on entertaining other Christians with
ostentatious performances, but rather on expressing our love for God through worship. The
church gives us a solid foundation by taking away our burdens, providing a solid foundation for
our faith, and meeting our most fundamental needs.
