Title of the Project
 In our society, crimes that are an awful act is boosting
Abstract of the Project up that occurs due to money, ill mentality and unbalanced
emotions. Therefore, due to the occurrence of crimes, respected
victim has to go through a complex and lengthy process in
police station to file a F.I.R against crime (Debnath, 2020). Even
after using police Helpline number and calling police to the
crime scene, the police will still request to write a F.I.R and
then submit to the police station after the visitation of crime
scenario. So, one must need an online crime reporting system
that is the electronic platform developed to provide services to
the public to submit their crime report directly from home or
crime scenario and aid police authorities to ensure their reports
for decision making efficiently (InforMEA, 2021). Also,
sometimes physically disabled people cannot reach to the
police station to submit F.I.R due to their disability. Due to
this, these types of physically disabled people can directly
login and register their minor or major crime complaints in an
online reporting web app. Additionally, people need police
help not only for crime reporting but also for other purposes
such as getting their crime certificates for green card
application, visa application and so on. Therefore, they can
apply for their crime certificate request and get it from the
online crime reporting system.

Thus, the main purpose of this project is to facilitate the public

citizens of Nepal to report their crimes and submit F.I.R
through electronic system that will save their time and energy
by developing a web software for reporting crimes. Not only
they can file a F.I.R. but also they can access other interesting
features like news feed, updates related to the crimes that are
occurred in the society and information of past criminals that
we must be aware of. On the other hand, the software will
collect data from users and store it that will be looked through
by police department afterwards. Thus, this project is just
taking its effort to communicate between victims and police
increasing their security.

 Background: Due to the busy life schedule of people, they
Description of artefact tend to file their F.I.R in an easier and faster way that can save
their time and energy. Crime itself is not a good act. Therefore,
when awful crimes tend to happen, there must be an easier and
convenient way to send their voice to the police department
which is possible from crime reporting web app.

Problem Statement

Reporting crimes by hand-written can affect people’s

modernized way of living busy life. People are so busy in their
college life, office works and house life. They will rarely have
free time to go to the police station and file a F.I.R. Also
People in remote areas have to travel a long way by walking or
personal vehicles to police station in headquarter. Additionally,
people who are going to abroad are so much busy for preparing
their official works and they find less free time to collect their
crime certificates from police department.

Solution to the problem statement

The only solution of the above discussed problems is the

identification and implementation of web app that can aid
public citizens to file a F.I.R in a faster way. In remote areas,
instead of walking long way to police headquarter, people can
submit their crime report directly from home using crime
reporting web app. This project will help people to utilize
modern technology and submit F.I.R to police department even
in busy schedule.

Aims and objectives of the Project

Aim: To design & implement proper crime reporting software

system which can be the medium for police department and
public citizens to communicate with each other.

Objective: The main objective of the project is to help police

department and public communicate with the aid of web
application software, to consume people time and energy by
web app, to encourage public for using online crime reporting
system for faster way and to enhance the efficiency with better
modern techniques.
Features of the artefact

 Design of amiable interface will be performed.

 Design of separate module system will be done both for
police department and public.
 People can login, register and file a F.I.R in the system.
 People can also contact police department from the
system that will have several features like phone
number, email, Facebook page, and twitter below in the
system.
 Security system for reporter’s data and information will
implemented.
 Specific modules will be there in my system such as:
User login and registration, Admin Login, F.I.R
submission, Enquiry section and so on.

Intellectual Challenge

Lack of complete knowledge: Due to the lack of my complete

knowledge on crime reporting, I will need to do more and more
research to complete my project.

Punctuality: Time never waits for anyone. Similarly, how hard

I will try to complete my research and application, I may be fail
to compete my project on my time expectation.

Therefore, in order to fight my intellectual challenge, I need to

get proper knowledge on the basis of my project topic and I
also need to make routines for completing each and every task
on time.

Methodology Used
For Research: I will use qualitative method, enquiry from
police department, surveys, interviews and questionnaires for
the purpose of information collection of my research part.
For Application: As agile method helps to deliver products in
a faster way along with good quality, predictability and
flexibility , this project will use agile method for the
development of the application(Keita, 2021). Also, changes of
time and other requirements can be done by this type of model.
After the completion of application the model will also help in
unit testing to meet my expectation.
All the knowledge that I have gained from the courses of my
first and second year classes in college will help me to
complete my research and application. I have gained
knowledge on scripting languages, project methodologies,
project planning, and practical thinking and so on. I have
learned various programming languages such as Object
oriented, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and CSS. Therefore, I am
going use this programming languages to develop front end and
application of my project. I have also learned on how to think
practically as well theoretically.
Similarly, like I have gained knowledge from my previous
courses, the same way I have gained new and interesting ideas
from the present class sessions running recently. As per the
Course-coordinator has taught me recently, I will use the ideas
given by him in the research process of my project.
