The course is designed to provide students
diverse experiences of litera ture a nd help them
ga in m ore a wa reness of the unique
cha ra cteristics of ea ch region in the Philippines
through va ried litera ry pieces, both ora l a nd
written form s, pa ssed from our forefa ther up to
the present works of Filipino writers tha t best
represent ea ch isla nd of the country. This helps
them understa nd a nd a pprecia te the events,
culture, tra ditions, va lues, a nd beliefs tha t sha pe
the Filipino identity a cross tim e.
