There are four documents to be used for this report, Documents 301-304
While you will need to divide the documents among you, it is important that all of you know the
contents of the four documents.
Roundtables, as a technique,
arose out of a need for consensus-
building to identify problems and
seek solutions in the relationship
between formal decision makers
(such as governments & judiciaries)
and other sectors of society (such as
environmental groups, community
groups & other interest groups)
during the 1980’s.
The idea as to what motivates the conduct of roundtable is simple, and this is
participation. There is no leader in a roundtable, but there will be a facilitator to make sure that
the discussion ensues properly and well. Here, everyone is given an equal chance to forward his
ideas or arguments.
1. Preparations
Group dynamics:
1. Allow members to introduce themselves;
2. Introduce over all goals and specific objectives;
3. Explain the rules;
4. Identify a facilitator; (you can ask one of your classmates in class to do this for you)
5. Raise main points of the issue;
6. Allow members to ask or raise questions;
7. Allow members to respond to certain questions; and
8. Arrive at a consensus regarding the controversy.
Note: Read on the Cavite Mutiny in history books and see how this can help you in the presentation.
