Abstract

Bangladesh is a third world overpopulated country. Poverty has always been a root obstacle in
the development of this country. Bangladesh has been fighting since its independence to
eradicate poverty and increase the economic growth and ICT is a blessing for a country like
Bangladesh. ICT is used as an effective tool for proverty alleviation. This country is now one of
the world leaders in using telecommunication (mainly phone) for proverty alleviation .Not only
that , ICT has huge impact on every sectors of our life and economy. it has drastically made our
life easy and we can connect to the whole world in minutes like a global village. ICT in proverty
alleviation has a notable contribution for the economy growth and development of digital
Bangladesh.

Introduction

Information and comunications technology is an extensional term for information technology.


That stresses the role of unified comunications and intregration of tele comunication and
comuters, as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage, and audiovisual
system, that enable users to access, store, transmit and manipulate information. The term ICT is
also used to refer to the convergence of audiovisual and telephone network with computer
networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives to merge
the telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of
cabling, signal distribution, and management. ICT is an umbrella term that includes any
comunication device, encompassing radio, television, cell phones, computer and network
hardware, satelite system and so on as well as the various services and appliance with them
such as video conferencing and distance learning. ICT is a broad subject and the concepts are
evolving. It covers any product that will store, retrieve, manupulate, transmit, or receive
information electronically in a digital form. Theoretical differences between interpersonal
comunication technologies and mass-communication technologies have been identified by the
philosopher Piyush Mathur. Skills Framework for the Information Age is one of many models for
describing and managing competencies for ICT Professionals for the 21st century.

Defination of ICT

ICT stands for information and comunication technologies and is defined, as a diverse set of
technological tools and resources used to communicate and to create, dissdminate, store, and
manage information. ICT implies the technology which consists of electronic devices and
associated human interactive materials that enable the user to employ them for a wide range of
teaching learning process in addition to personal use. The term information refers to any
comunication or representation of knowledge such as facts, data or opinions in any medium or
for, including textual numerical, graphic catographic, narrative or audiovisual forms.Technology
is the practical form of scientific khowledge or the science of the science of application of
konowledge to practical.UNESCO defines ICT as the scientific,technological and engineering
diciplines and the management techniques used to handle transmit information with men and
machines.Finally ,information communication technology is a diverse mixture of technology and
tools resources to create,differentiate,store,bring value addition and manage information for
communication.
