Introduction
Before reading any novel, it is helpful to know the history behind
the story. Today you get to be historians and discover the two
families behind the novel “The Coffin Quilt.” Did deep into each
family and learn about the members you may grow to love…or
hate. “The Coffin Quilt” is based on true event and real people;
therefore, it is important to understand their role in the events
that took place throughout the novel.
The Process
You will need your laptops in order to do your research. This is an
individual project so you will be working on your own. Remember
to ask questions if you have any.
Make sure your site are onl .org,.web. or .gov sites. I have
provided a few below I believe to be useful starting points:
https://gw.geneanet.org
https://wvhistoryonview.org
https://www.britannica.com
Once you have completed your research, you will create a family
tree of the family of your choice. The tree needs to be accurate
and concise. It can be done on your computer digitally: you can
insert a graph on Word and it can be used to create a tree or there
are different templates online that can be downloaded. Or you
may put your tree on a poster board.
Evaluation
Your grade will be based on the following rubric.
