After reading the module and material, let's discuss these questions.

Explain it based on
your understanding.

1. How do you differentiate between Adjectives and Adverbs?

Adjectives modifies noun or pronoun while Adverbs modifies verb, adjectives, or adverb
itself.

 Tiffany is so beautiful. She also sings beautifully.

beautiful is an adjective modifying Tiffany(pronoun).
The adverb beautifully modifies the verb sing.

An adjective tells us more about a noun while adverb tell us more a verb. for example :
Adjectives : Harsen is a careful driver.
Adverb : Harsen drove carefully along the narrow road.

Adjectives answer Adverbs answer

Which one? How/to what extent?
 This duck  He spoke carefully to
the child.
How many? When?
 One hotdog  He takes notes daily
in class.
What kind? Where?
 New motorcycle  The thief fell down as
he ran away.
How much? Why do students study?
 Little rain To gain knowledge

2. How to use Preposition and Articles in a sentence?

a) A preposition is a word which is placed before a noun, a noun phrase or a pronoun

to show its relation with something else in the sentence.

 The boys are playing in the yard.

 She found the book about cats on the table, in the bedroom.
 The movie starts at 10.30
In, on and at are prepositions. In, on, and at are all examples of prepositions that serve
multiple purposes.
b) Articles are special modifiers that appear before nouns or noun phrases. Like other
adjectives, they help clarify the meaning of the noun in your sentence.

 An old motorcycle
 A smart student
 An amazing university
 My brother bought me a dress.

The definite article the is used for specific nouns, while the indefinite article a or an is
used for non-specific nouns, as seen in the following examples:
Donald wants to eat dinner at the new restaurant in Los Angeles.

Donald wants to eat dinner at a new restaurant in Los Angeles.

While both sentences are grammatically correct, they have slightly different meanings. The
use of the article the in the first sentence makes it clear that Donald is referring to a specific
restaurant. The use of the article a in the second sentence shows that Donald is simply
looking for any new culinary experience the city has to offer.
