Section 7 – medical technology board

Pres of the rep of Phil will appoint the chairperson of Board of medtect upon recommendation of
PRC.

- 3 yrs after appointment

Section 8 – qualifications of examiners

1. Filipino citizen
2. Good moral character
3. Qualified pathologist or duly registered as mt of Phil
4. In practice of laboratory medicine or mt of at least 10 yrs prior to their appointment
5. He or she should not be the member of the faculty of any medical technology school for
atleast 2 years

Section 9 – the executive officer of the board

Section 10 – compensation of members of the board of examiners of medical technology

Each member of the board, receive 10 pesos for examine, 5 pesos without examination

Section 11 – functions and duties of the board

1. Administer the provisions of this act

2. Administer oath in connection with the administration of this act
3. Issue, suspend and revoke certificates of registration
4. They look into conditions affecting the practice of mt in the Phil
5. Investigate such violations of this act or of the rules and regulations
6. Draft such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this act
7. Determine the adequacy of the technical staff of all clinical laboratories and blood banks
8. Prescribe the qualifications and trainings of medical technologist
9. Classify and prescribed the qualifications and training of technical staff of clinical
laboratories

Section 12- removal of board members

Basis:

1. Neglect of duty
2. Incompetency
3. Malpractice or unprofessional
4. Unethical
 5. Immoral or dishonorable conduct

Section 13 – accreditation of schools mt and of training laboratories

Approve the mt schools CHED

DOH approved the training laboratories

CHED memo order – CMO 62008 – guidelines

Section 14 – inhibition against the practice of medical technology

1. Duly registered physician

2. Medical technologist from other countries called in for consultation or as visiting or exchange
proffessors
3. Medical technologist in the service of United States armed forces

Section 15- examinations

All applicants shall be required to undergo written examination. At manila, cebu, davao, baguio,
Cagayan de oro. As board designate. Notices, published in 3 newspaper for at least 30 days prior to the
date of examination. Month – march and September

Section 16 – qualification for examination

1. In good health and is of good moral character

2. Completed a course of 4 yrs leading to the degree

Section 17- scope of examination

Clinical chemistry 20 percent

Microbiology and parasitology 20

Hematology 20

Blood banking and serology 20

Ckinical microscopy 10

Histopathologic techniques, MTLBE, 10

Section 18 – report of rating

Section 19 – rating in the examination

 Must obtain 75 percent of written test with no rating of 50 percnt. Provided that the candidate is
not failed in 60 percent of the subjects computed accrding to the weight.
