My mom is probably my most favorite individual in the world.

The person who shaped my being and


introduced me to this REALITY. Since she was an individual who came from an indigenous tribe, I get to
absorb some of their culture. As an Ivatan, I learned how to swim at an early age, plant food crops and
hike mountains. As a student of Batanes National Science High School, I’m expected to handle both my
studies and hobbies without going stray to my goals. The culture of my mother and her ancestors
impacted me so much that even though I’m away for almost 7 years now, I still kept doing what they
taught me. By way of conclusion, as an individual born from a woman with a rich cultural background, I
was able assimilate a lot of things which I cannot completely erase nor forgot.
