Lesson: Create a box primitive

In this lesson, you will enter the Sculpt Workspace and create a Box primitive.

Learning Objectives:
• Enter the Sculpt Workspace.
• Create a Box primitive.

Step 1: Enter the Sculpt Workspace


1. Continue with the file FSAE
Steering Wheel 4 from the
previous example.

2. Add an empty component.

3. Name the new component Grip,


make sure its Parent is the top
level of the design and Activate
it.

4. Select Create Form.

5. The first time you enter
the Sculpt Environment
you will need to read and
OK the pop up dialog.
You can also select
“Don’t show me this
again”.

Step 2: Create a Box Primitive


6. Select Create>Box.

7. From the browser select the XZ plane.

8. Navigate to a Top view by


selecting TOP on the ViewCube.

9. Draw a 2point rectangle roughly
as shown.

10. Set the length to 2.0in, the Width


to -6.0in and the Height to 2.0in
with the Direction as Symmetric
and OK.

11. Select Finish Form and Save the


file.
