Lesson: Edit form using translate, rotate and scale

In this lesson, you will use the edit form feature and the translate, rotate and scale manipulators.

Learning Objectives:
 Use the Edit Form feature.
 Use the Translate Manipulator.
 Use the Rotate Manipulator.
 Use the Scale Manipulator.

Step 1: Edit Form

1. Continue with the file FSAE
Steering Wheel 4 from the
previous example.

2. Activate the Grip component then Right

Click on the Form feature in the timeline
and select Edit.

3. Rotate the model to a TOP view and

then select Modify>Edit Form.

 4. Double left click on the midline edge to
select the tangent loop around the
body.

5. Using the arrow facing to the right pull

the midline over 1.0in.

6. Left click in the canvas area to

deselect the edge. Select the edge
shown and rotate it -20deg.

7. Click in the canvas area to deselt the

edge. Select the two faces shown by
holding down the CTRL key and then
Scale them down to 0.2.
Note: once you start dragging with the
appropriate manipulator you can manually
enter a value, or you can expand the
Numerical Inputs section in the Edit Form
properties.

8. Finish Form and Save file.
