VACANT POSITION

Position: Agronomist – Southeast Asia

Reporting to: Managing Director SEA, Corporate Southeast Asia agronomist.

Direct reports: Agronomist – AP

Location: Based in Indonesia region of work includes the geography of Southeast Asia map below.

Position Summary: SUMMARY


The Regional Agronomist (R.A) reports to MD with doted line to regional sales managers. The
RA is accountable for supporting existing markets also assisting with development of new crop
markets through guidance, training promoting agronomy related topics to Drip irrigation and
Fertigation in open field and Greenhouse soilless technologies.
The RA will be directly responsible for the level of agronomic support users of Netafim Open
field and Greenhouse system receive. The RA will be providing general Crop growing agronomy
recommendations and agronomic guidance at the level defined with regional sales managers
under defined business structure of paid and or unpaid services.

The Agronomist will have key role in developing and maintaining relationships with relevant
private and government bodies and will provide a strong communication link between technical
support, sales as well as working with growers to promote Netafim Greenhouse solutions and
viable drip irrigation fertigation practices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Promote the agronomic concept principles, and practices of drip irrigation fertigation to all
parties involved in the irrigation business (Growers- private and corporates, Co-ops,
Fertiliser, Seed, Ag Chem and Private Agronomists).
2. Foster strong working relationships with relevant government bodies, research institutions,
fertilizer companies, and relevant private corporations.
3. Manage and monitor trials, including the processes involved with developing a trial and
also managing approved trials for their duration.
4. Provide sound agronomic advice for the use of drip irrigation, assisting clients with water
quality challenges in reference to operation and maintenance of drip systems.
5. Establish and facilitate links with those groups with an interest in agronomic information
such as researchers, extension officers etc.
6. Visit potential projects with regional sales teams providing agronomic guidance on the
principles of drip fertigation: spacing, delivery, scheduling, and plant nutrition.
7. Accompany sales staff on client visits to provide advice on Netafim Greenhouse agronomy,
drip irritation-fertigation and its advantages.
8. Regularly visit fertilizer companies and producers to discuss trends in the marketplace and
determine ways in which Netafim and these companies can work together.
9. Provide operation guidelines and after sales operation support to clients ie: scheduling and
fertigation programs.
10. Represent Netafim Southeast Asia as required to present at seminars, symposiums,
forums, and conferences.
11. Provide written summaries of all activities undertaken for the purposes of developing a
database of knowledge and communication between all relevant parties.
Research:

12. Consult with relevant researchers and research institutes with regard to planning
materials, field trends and research results.

13. Initiate and support trials and research, in line with the company objectives in those
crops with a strategic focus.

14. Maintain contact with the agronomic fraternity to ensure information relevant to the
irrigation business is obtained.

15. Communicate with Netafim Corporate Agronomy team to maintain an up-to-date


database of relevant research material.

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English as in Bahasa.
