2nd Activity in Income Tax

Now that we are on a pandemic, what is the relevance of collecting taxes to the people?
Give examples
The pandemic affects us all which it is hard to find solutions to our daily life. The
relevance of collecting taxes to the people is helping to sustain affordable health care to
necessities through "lifeline" programs. For examples, collecting taxes to the people in order
to get the medical needs in hospital to give it to those people who are affected with the
COVID19 same with the masks that we are still wearing right now to avoid getting the virus.
Thus, with the new normal, taxes will play a role with this to have a good balance and
management to help the economy to grow and have a development.

Do you think that power to tax is a power to destroy? Expound your answer.
What I think about “power to tax is a power to destroy” is that the government who
can collect taxes can be used in many forms that can destroy the city because of the wrong
use in collecting taxes. To add it up, we, the people, grant the government to have a power
in taxation with the thought of that we can remove them also if they abuse their power and
throw the country in financial crisis.

Do you think that government is doing its best effort to give in return to the taxpayers the
quality of public service that is to be provided? Explain your answer.

In my own opinion, I do not think that the government is doing their best effort to
give in return to the taxpayers the quality of public service because of inefficiency,
unresponsive, and lack of transparency. Considering that the other project has no
transparency, and it took many years to implement it to the point that many people suffer
from it. Other people that are part of the government tends to abuse their power and
collect the taxes after that they will put it on their own pocket without informing the
taxpayers. The corruption is still in this government and the poor is still receiving no return
from them.
