PURPOSE:
To define and display the service provided by the hospital.

SCOPE:
Services provided by all the Departments of Koshys Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITY:
Medical Director, Administrator and CEO

POLICY:
SCOPE OF SERVICES:

 Koshys Hospital was established in 2002 as a tertiary centre of excellence. The basis of the
centre service was based on the healthcare needs of the region.

 Koshys Hospital provides high end tertiary care in Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and
Gynecology and Nephrology. Also covered under the scope are the departments of
Gastroenterology and Pulmonology. The Institute provides complete services for treatment of
emergency, acute and follow up care for patients of all age groups.

 The services have state of the art technology and equipment, highest level of environmental
controls and fully trained and experienced staff who are dedicated to the care of patients.

 The services provided by the organization are clearly defined under the title “Scope of
Services” of the departmental manuals.

QUALIFIED MEDICAL AND NURSING STAFF:

All the Medical Professionals shall be registered under Medical Council of India / Karnataka Medical
Council. The credentialing of the Consultants shall be done by Medical Director. The credentialing of
the Junior Doctor shall be done by the Medical Superintendent.

All the Nursing staffs are registered under Nursing Council of India. The work is assigned to all
Nursing staff based on their Qualifications and any other regulatory requirements.

The Laboratory department employs qualified person (authorized signatories) supervises and interprets
investigation results. Technical staffs are trained before they operate equipment independently.

The Radiology department employs qualified staff (radiologist and radiographer). The minimum
qualification and experience of the staff comply with AERB Safety Code for Medical Diagnostic X-ray
Equipment and Installations (Code No. AERB/SC/MED-2).

DISPLAY OF SERVICES:
The defined services are prominently displayed at various places so that they are easily visible to the
patients entering the organization. The various methods used by the organization to make the patients
aware and educated that what all services are provided by the organization.

 Display board is present at the front office which displays prominently the services provided by
the organization.
 The services and the scope are also displayed at the web site of Koshys Hospital.

STAFF ORIENTATION:
 A booklet of the services shall be available in Front office.

 New staff joining in the above mentioned departments shall be given orientation by the
department HOD.

 Re-orientation programs shall be conducted at every three months for the staff working in the
Front office section.

 Manager – Front Office in coordination with HR department is responsible for training the
staffs.
