Activity 1

1. The main idea is “ it was at night that Doon Town really blossomed”.

2. The main idea is located in the first sentence.

3. The supporting details are crowd Cinema entrances, prostitutes at dark alleys, drunker
maundering from rum shop.

4. Doon town was active at night. Prostitutes worked along dark alleys and on the main street stalls
were lit with flambeaux selling meals. Negresses wore hats fanning the flames with rolled up
newspaper. Crowds gathered around the two cinema entrances and the drunks were heard
maundering from the rum shop. The traffic never stopped.

Activity 2

1. The main idea is benefits of space exploration

2. It is located in the second sentence.

3. The details are satellites gives us information about the weather, we see facts from space which
helps the planet.

4. Space exploration has benefited us by enabling engineers to design computers, doctors learnt
more about our bodies and scientist learnt more about Earth, Not only but we satellites now gives us
more information about the weather and much more.
