 The subject is a man that is in his middle aged year, he is describing his life
as he waits for the return of wife.

Voice
 The man is telling that his life has been lonely and dark whenever her
significant other is away but when she returns she has the warmth that puts
the man at ease and he also feels loved.

 The man’s tone is somber and gloomy as he waits for the arrival of his wife,
but when his wife’s returns the man’s tone becomes mellow as he seems
more alive.

The phrases that stood out to me are “Everything seems dark to my soul”
and “Everything appears dim to my eyes”. This phrases says the feeling of
the man that he is sad and lonely as he waits for his wife.

1.Sadness Sadness can be seen all through the text and it is the feeling of the man
when his wife is away.

 
2.Love It shows the affection of the man towards his wife and he feels the lingering
warmth that only his wife can give to him and it show how they love each
other.
