Description
The Rotor Brake System Brake Unit 1603U000 consists of a machined aluminum alloy Manifold, twin Piston Assemblies (one on each
side of disc) installed into the manifold with a heat insulator washer fitted at the edge of the piston, two composite Pads, one connected
to each piston, one stainless steel Disc with mounting holes to install on the flange of the Tail drive shaft, and with adequate thickness
and shape for wear, heat sinking and temperature range allowance, one Bleeding Valve.
Coaxial to each piston, a friction-type wear compensation facility allows to restore optimum clearance between the pads and disc
throughout their technical life.
The Brake Unit is installed close to the transmission being the disc provided with mounting holes for installation on Tail Drive Shaft
flange.
It is designed to meet the applicable requirements of AS8775.
The functions of the Brake Unit are to pressurize the Rotor Brake System of Hindustan LUH (Light Utility Helicopter) during dynamic
braking and during parking.
