Moral Cultures and Moral Logics

A moral culture is a specific set of beliefs and attitudes about the fundamental
duties and potentials of people. Moral logics are rules for how to behave in
relation to the right-wrong distinction, including determining obligations,
supporting assertions, making choices when right and wrong are ambiguous,
and assessing the goodness or blameworthiness of actual behavior. Several
"traditional" and "modern" moral cultures and moral logics, primarily Chinese,
Indian, and Western, are examined for their fundamental structures. The
moralization systems that specific moral culture types typically rely on are
outlined.
