The last remaining powerhouse in the world, Japan, was attacked by the Holy

Empire of Britannia. It adopted the name "Area 11" and joined the empire. It
was for this reason that Prince Lelouch of Britannia, who had been
abandoned, vowed to destroy Britannia for his best friend, a little Japanese
child by the name of Suzaku Kururugi. Seven years later, he is a student at
Ashford Academy going by the name Lelouch Lamperouge. He observes a
truck accident below the highway he and his companion are traveling on after
winning a game of chess against a British lord. He enters the truck, which has
been taken over by Japanese terrorists, in order to check if anyone is harmed.
He learns they are terrorists. After the truck crashed, He met Suzaku, an
Honorary Britannian soldier and his childhood friend. A big capsule ejected
green light, revealing a girl inside. The commander tries to kill Lelouch when
additional soldiers show up, but the girl stops him. The girl who appears to be
dead gives him a magical ability known as Geass just as he is about to be
shot again. Lelouch can compel his victims to submit to him in all ways thanks
to this power. Using his newfound ability, he then uses the troops to commit
suicide in order to save himself.

A Knightmare notices Lelouch inside the warehouse as he muses over what

to do with his newly discovered power. Lelouch utilizes his quick thinking to
fool the pilot of the Knightmare into exiting, and he then uses his Geass to
coerce her into giving him her Knightmare. Suzaku Kururugi, a British Military
Private First Class, awakens in an FMS at that point and a silver-haired guy
gives him the chance to fly a Knightmare. At this point, Lelouch turns into a
terrorist. He accomplishes this by aiding terrorist Kallen Kouzuki, in eluding
British pursuit. Then he gives all the terrorists Sutherlands, the most recent
iteration of the mass-produced Knightmare. He then starts looking for the
British Knightmares and instructs the terrorists to set up ambushes for them
using his stolen Sutherland's IFF Indicator. Lelouch eventually employs a
cunning strategy to nearly win when Clovis directs all units to surround the
terrorists before Suzaku, in the new Knightmare Frame, starts methodically
destroying the terrorist forces. Suzaku discovers Lelouch's Knightmare and
keeps trying to kill him until Kallen diverts his attention for long enough for
Lelouch to flee. Later, Lelouch infiltrates Clovis' compound and coerces him
into giving the command for all units to retreat. Following that, he admits that
he is Clovis' brother.

The reason behind Clovis' order is being questioned by the soldiers. Lelouch
explains that he and his sister were exploited as Britannian tools because
their mother was dead when Clovis questions if that is okay. He admits that
he is aware that one of the British nobility killed his mother, which is the root
of all his problems and his sister's current illnesses. Lelouch uses Geass to
command Clovis to ask him what he knows, at which Clovis replied, Princess
Cornelia and Prince Schneizel might be able to tell him who killed his mother,
and then Lelouch kills him. At school, Lelouch wonders why they are
concealing Clovis' death but as soon as he remembers what he did, Lelouch
rushes to the restroom. Kallen appears again in, but as a student in Lelouch's
school. Lelouch uses his Geass on her, interrogating her about why she was
in Shinjuku and telling her not to mention it to anybody. Lelouch and Kallen
are both left with questions about this. Lelouch wants to know why his Geass
failed, and Kallen wants to know why he knows about Shinjuku. Lelouch
wants to test the theory that he can only use Geass on each individual once,
so he uses it on the teacher. As Lelouch and Kallen talk about the previous
incident, he answers the phone and hands it to Kallen after claiming it is for
her. Surprisingly, she hears Lelouch's voice telling her to meet him
somewhere. She initially thinks it's someone else who sounds like Lelouch.
After the Geass effect wears off, Sayoko shuts off the tape recorder on the
other end of the line and hangs up. This convinces kallen that she was wrong.

Clovis' death was made public, Suzaku was held responsible.

Even though he is innocent, Suzaku cannot prove it, so Jeremiah uses it to
destroy the Honorary Britannia system by using Suzaku as a scapegoat. At
the same time, Kallen and other rebels have entered a partially destroyed
Tokyo Tower where she receives a cellphone with the message, "From
ZERO". Lelouch instructs rebels to board a train. Following Zero's
instructions, they make their way to the front of the train, where a masked
man awaits them. He tells them that terror isn’t a solution and that Britainn
civilians are innocent. Rebels ask him to show his face because they cannot
trust the masked man but instead he shows them the power that he has. Later
on, Suzaku is taken to the military court and the whole event is televised to
the public. Meanwhile, with the help of Kallen, Zero presents himself to the
public for the first time, but before he did anything, he was attacked. Zero
demands that they free Suzuka, but Jeremiah refuses. Then Zero reveals that
he was the one who killed Clovis. Following the plan, he uses his Geass to
manipulate Jeremiah and makes him release Suzuka. After saving him, Zero
offers Suzuka to join them, but he refuses, believing Britannia should be
changed with legal means and departs for his trial.

Princess Cornelia intends to kill Zero as payback for the passing of Prince
Clovis. Finding CC in Nunnally’s room, Lelouch drags her out and asks what
she would do if the army pursues them once they are alone. Because nobody
would know she was here, she claims she would stay with him. The following
day, Lelouch pulls CC to the roof because Kallen almost saw her and claims
she shouldn't be outside. Jeremiah is attacked by the Purists, commanded by
Kewell Soresi. Suzaku bids farewell to Euphie, the girl he earlier saved, and
remarks that this is a good opportunity to gather information for the Lancelot.
Just as the Purists were ready to kill Jeremiah, Lancelot enters the fray and
breaks up the brawl. Euphie is about to enter the combat zone when Kewell
tosses a Chaos grenade, Suzaku defends Euphie with its shield. She then
reveals that she is the Third Princess Euphemia li Britannia. The pilots kneel
and apologize for their behavior.

After Suzuka met Lelouch in school. Lelouch and Suzaku both underwent
significant transformation during this time, and both agreed that they had
improved. Before leaving, Suzaku instructs Lelouch to pretend as though they
have never met. Lelouch nods as they part ways. A cat that got into his house
managed to steal Zero’s mask which is also the only evidence of him. He
chased the cat to the school building. Without knowing what the cat stole from
Lelouch, the entire school starts looking for it. When Suzaku catches up to the
cat on the roof, Lelouch intentionally slips, distracting Suzaku and forcing him
to save him. Lelouch secretly retrieves the mask and Suzaku's heroic save
allows some of the students to accept him.

After their mother was killed, the Emperor decided that Lelouch and Nunnally
would make wonderful negotiation chips and sends them to Japan. In the
present, in order to draw Zero out, Cornelia surrounds the Ghetto with her
forces in readiness for an assault. Lelouch is getting ready to go to the Ghetto
and ask Cornelia some questions. Cornelia is murdering residents of the
Saitomo Ghetto. From the building, Lelouch observes the battle, and when a
Sutherland came across him, Lelouch used his Geass to take the item from
him. Following the resistance's destruction of the bridge and Cornelia's
command for them to go, the Britannia troops are being eliminated one by one
while Lelouch tries to smuggle himself into the fleeing group. Cornelia, having
anticipated that Zero would disguise himself as one of her soldiers, prepares
for an inspection. Lelouch is saved when C.C., disguised as Zero, distracts
the Britannian Army, allowing him to escape. Lelouch blames his defeat on
the undisciplined rebels and resolves to build his own army

Zero gathers the resistance group at a place and informs them that it is now
the Black Knight's base. Japan Liberation Front, had taken over the hotel and
among the hostages are Shirley, Milly, and Nina . The JLF's leader,
Kusakabe, assures everyone that they won't suffer any damage if they remain
silent and do nothing. The only route into the hotel is the lifeline tube that runs
beneath it which Cornelia tried to use but JLF easily eliminates all
Knightmares there. Euphie is one of the hostages, which is why Cornelia is
reluctant to attack. She is told by one of the troops that Zero has a message
for her. When Zero meets Cornelia, he asks her if Euphie, who is still alive, is
more important than dead Clovis. He enters the hotel successfully, but
Cornelia tells everyone to attack Zero and the JLF. She also commands
Suzaku to allow Lancelot to launch as a ruse, which he does. While Zero uses
his Geass on Kusakabe, Lancelot launches and successfully penetrates the
defense line. Zero explained to Euphie why he killed Clovis and why he also
intends to kill her while Suzaku gets ready to attack. As he strikes, previously
planted bombs exploded all over the structure. Cornelia is informed by Zero
that he freed all the hostages and that he punished the JLF for killing the
innocent civilians. He then unveils the Black Knights, the defenders of justice,
at this point.

Cornelia decided to give the Black Knights some time to regroup because
they had saved Euphemia’s life. The group members quickly become heroes
as Zero proclaims that the Black Knights are the allies of the weak. While Milly
is with her,it is revealed that Kallen’s biological mother is a maid and that she
is a half-blood. Later, Oghi informs Kallen that someone is selling Refrain, a
drug designed to destroy Japan. As the Black Knights storm the refrain
factory, Kallen notices her mother, the drug-using Japanese, and another
man. There the Knight Police attack Kallen. When she understood what her
mother's actual motives were, she destroyed the Knight Police and later took
her mother to the hospital. In the hospital, she promises to make a world
where two of them can live in peace.
Lelouch notices a Britannian named Diethard Ried wants to join as well when
perusing the list of new recruits, which piques his curiosity. The Black Knights
are shown a whole range of Knightmare Frames in their headquarters that
have been specially designed and are prepared for their usage. However, one
Knightmare stands out above the others. Zero hands Kallen the keys and
declares that she is the rightful owner because of her exceptional piloting
skills. Zero uses his Geass on two soldiers and instructed them to ignore
anything unexpected. The JLF's base will be the target of an assault by the
Britannian army, under the command of Cornelia and Euphemia. The Black
Knights discover they are besieged when the Britannian army launches a full-
scale assault on the mountain base. The group members start to doubt Zero's
leadership skills but they still know that no one can lead them like he can. As
a result of a hard battle, a mudslide ensues destroying almost all knightmares.
Jeremiah's group spots the Black Knights. He confronts the Guren head-on in
an effort to get revenge, but Kallen menages to win.

While the remaining Purebloods struggle for their lives, Kallen murders Kewell
using the Guren. The Black Knights without knightmares, on the other hand,
are being fired upon without any protection.Cornelia's forces are also
struggling. When Todhoh and the Four Holy Blades arrive, things take a bad
turn, forcing Cornelia to flee alone while Guilford and Darlton remain in their
positions. Suzaku and Lloyd request to engage in fight, but the commanders
refuse them, claiming that Suzaku is an Eleven and hence powerless to affect
the situation. Euphemia nevertheless chooses to give them a chance. When
Cornelia runs into the Guren, she finds herself in a one-on-one battle with it,
but the Guren's technology and Kallen's piloting prowess are beyond her
reach. She was about to commit suicide after losing both of her arms during
her Knightmare until the Lancelot appeared and once again shifted the battle's
momentum in her favor. Cornelia was saved by Suzaku, who also managed to
break the Guren's right arm. Zero was unable to flee in time, forcing the Black
Knights to retreat. However, CC showed up and touched the Lancelot while
feeding Suzaku terrible visions. as soon as Zero approach and touch her, all
three of them witnessed those shocking visions, causing Suzaku to
momentarily lose his sanity and start shooting erratically. When he had the
chance, Zero escaped with CC after she was struck by shrapnel. CC
murmured her real name while Lelouch attended to her wounds. Despite
Suzaku saving Cornelia's life, she continued to call him a failure while Suzaku
was still mentally traumatize

After coming home from a long day of work, Nunnally, Lelouch sister, said that
she misses him and he's not spending time with her. Lelouch, feeling guilty,
replied that he's always going to be at her side. The Black Knights were taken
to a super secret place to meet with Taizō Kirihara, one of the most powerful
people in the Japanese underground and an acquaintance of Lelouch from his
younger days. Kirihara, speaks to them and demands that Ohgi unmask Zero,
and he proceeds to do so. When the mask came off, CC is revealed, and
everyone is shocked. Real Zero is hiding in one of the Knightmares. He then
came down to confront Kirihara directly and unmasked himself. Seeing
Lelouch's face, Kirihara assures the Black Knights that Zero is worthy of trust
and he will back them up financially.
Lelouch later met Shirley, one of the closest friends. She expressed her grief
over her father's death in the battle of Narita, which was caused by zero, and
kissed him in desperation to relieve her pain.
