Ethics
• Derived from the Greek word “ethos”, meaning
customs, conduct, or character
• Concerned with the kinds of values and morals an
individual or society ascribes as desirable or
appropriate.
• Ethics address what behavior is considered right and
wrong, good and bad—what a person should and
should not do.
• Ethics is not about law per se, although many
behaviors that are illegal are also unethical.

• Refers to any individual, group, organization,
