1 Introduction
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the standard markup language for creating web pages and web
applications. With Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript, it forms a triad of cornerstone technologies for
the World Wide Web. Web browsers receive HTML documents from a web server or from local storage
and render the documents into multimedia web pages. HTML describes the structure of a web
page semantically and originally included cues for the appearance of the document.HTML elements are the
building blocks of HTML pages. With HTML constructs, images and other objects such as interactive
forms may be embedded into the rendered page. HTML provides a means to create structured documents by
denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. HTML
elements are delineated by tags, written using angle brackets. Tags such as  <img />  and  <input />  directly
introduce content into the page. Other tags such as  <p>  surround and provide information about document text
and may include other tags as sub-elements. Browsers do not display the HTML tags, but use them to interpret
the content of the page. HTML can embed programs written in a scripting language such as JavaScript, which
affects the behaviour and content of web pages. Inclusion of CSS defines the look and layout of content.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), maintainer of both the HTML and the CSS standards, has
encouraged the use of CSS over explicit presentational HTML since 1997.

2 TAG’s USED IN THIS PROJECT

 <HTML>: tells your web browser that a page with HTML is coming up. The opening tag is always
placed at the beginning of your document, and the closing tag is placed at the very end.
 <TITLE>: Title tags are displayed on search engine results pages (SERPs) as the clickable headline for
a given result, and are important for usability, SEO, and social sharing. The title tag of a web page is
meant to be an accurate and concise description of a page's content.
 <BODY>: When writing in HTML, the <body> tag is used to contain a web page's content, including
hyperlinks, images, tables, text, etc. It is required in every HTML document, and there may only be one
<body> tag per page.
1 BLOCK LEVEL TAG:
 <P>: HTML p Tag Main Tips. The <p> tag specifies a paragraph of text. The <p> element can only
contain inline elements within it. The browser adds margin automatically before and after the <p>
element.
 <H1>: The header tag, or the <h1> tag in HTML, will usually be the title of a post, or other
emphasized text on the page. It will usually be the largest text that stands out.
 <UL>: HTML <ul> tag. When writing in HTML, the <ul> tag is a block element used to designate an
unordered list. It is useful for creating bulleted lists, those in which the order of the items is arbitrary.
 <TABLE>: An HTML table is defined with the <table> tag. Each table row is defined with the <tr> tag.
A table header is defined with the <th> tag. By default, table headings are bold and center. A table
data/cell is defined with the <td> tag.
2 TEXT LEVEL TAG:
 <B>: This tag is used to bold the important text.
 <STRONG>: It is use to bold the important text.
 <I>: this tag is used to give italic look to the text.
 <FONT>: We use font tag in this project to to give a style or a design to a font.

3 OTHER TAG USED:

 <IMG>: The <img> tag defines an image in an HTML page. The <img> tag has two required

attributes: src and alt. Note: Images are not technically inserted into an HTML page, images are linked
to HTML pages. The <img> tag creates a holding space for the referenced image.
 <A>: The HTML <a> tag is used for creating an a element (also known as an "anchor" element). The a
element represents a hyperlink. This is usually a link to another document. You can use the <a> tag to
link text or images.
 <HEADER>: It usually contains a logo, search, navigational links, etc. The <header> tag is a new
element in HTML5. In an HTML document it is allowed to use several <header>tags, which can be
placed in any part of it.
 <FOOTER>: The <footer> element is a structural element used to identify the footer of a page,

Trinity Polytechnic Pune Page 11

typically contains copyright and authorship information or navigational element.

3 CONCLUSION
In this project we learn about the HTML. It’s different tag and by using this tag we can create a simple
webpage.
More better webpage can be made by using JAVASCRIPT and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), by using this
things we can develop a good looking and more efficient webpages.
